because everyone would then be playing 30 troop termies with a Hq term with the same gear. Yeah that sounds like something that should totally happen...Please no

DA's guys are the weak part of the army just like BA (why are they more points then a sm or sw unit of similar or the same build????) the termies have great stuff (like being troops with the character) same with ravenwing

Just so everyone knows there is a leaked codex blood angels online.

It's an extremly nice set of rules with only like 2 rules that may need to be FAQ'd.

Coolest thing in my mind... Librarian drednought!

Seen it. And if that is what the codex is going to look like, say hello to the new bandwagon army. 5th edition seems to me like the "Get stuck in" edition, and that is what this new BA codex is all about. CC army with tons of stuff to get them across the board and stuck in.

the jabba land speeder carrier thing isn't a that hot... It's like what 140pts for a fast vehicle that only jpack guys can assault out of when it deepstrikes? Not that great....

I want to know what happens when u use living darkness on a transport vehicle... Does everything die automatically? I guess.... Silly power tricks are for space pups!

Either way I like the codex and now I cam dust off my 120BAs to actually use them as I haven't sence 5th ed came around

Really? U can't assault out of it with anything but jpack guys on the turn IT deepstrikes. Not too good.

The broken part is overcharged rhinos. Put no Jpack jpack guys in a rhino and ram a tank at say 21inches away. It turns into a st 9 missile which dies 2/3 of the time (imobalized counts as destroyed and it counts as open toped if it moved over 12in) which allows the squad inside charge the same turn. Do those squads like say with 6-9 squads (d co) and u have a fun time! Just imagine against a guard army...ram the Russ and charge the squads close by.

Or more 'broken' is the darkness (I believe in a thing called love!!!!)

It has an assault cannon that is TL + Heavy 8 + pinning. Who cares if you can't assault out of it when you deploy, you can still put 16 models in the thing. To include bikes; as if they weren't already fast enough. The armor on the thing ain't too bad either.

It's also a 18in range.... Sure it is a fast vehicle but compare it to what competitive space marine lists take: autocannon dreds (125pts for 4x tl st 7 48in range shots), dakka dakka preds (85pts for the auto cannon and 2x hbolters also 48in-36in range) and my fav the las/twin plas razorback (1x las cannon and a twin plas for 75pts). Why would u want or need a tank (which is pritty much what it's ment to be) for close range shooting when u can just take long range shots to get rid of whatever u could shoot anyway?

What's going to happen is people will take a bunch and then not go first and the person they play against will just do any result on it to get them to be useless the next turn. There is 2gun systems so wep destroyed sux if it happens. imobalized?really sux with that whole 18in range. Shakens not that bad just because u can get into possition but with the new faster rhinos u can do the same thing for reg dudes for way less points. Stunned is probly the most annoying result for it, I mean common do u want terminators stuck in it from 1x shot? No...that's why u take land raiders for the extra armor! Or u do drop pods for the whole alpha strike in your face idea.

And the whole ability to deep strike it? On average it will come in on turn 3 so whatever you take (besides jpacks) won't be able to assault till turn 4ish and the shooting isn't THAT scary.

The best use for it that I see is to use 2 for troop choices and only 2 so that in a dusk and dawn mission u can out gun someone without them doing much.

If u could jump out and assault then I'd say it's great but I'd probly rate it below both the rhazorback, rhino, then it, then drop pod and finnaly the land raider for transport (in that order) just because of what the other things can do.

But hey that's my first impression of it, might be wrong might be right... Who knows?

I'm feeling a drop pod dred army myself along with jpack guys just because I have just about everything already...or the rhino rush of 2010.

Meh. It will have it's uses. Has anyone looked at the Techmarines "Lord of the Arsenal" Rule? That is just plain scary.

Basically states that for every techmarine, a tactical squad can take a Land Raider as a dedicated transport. Means BA will have the potential to have a lot of Land Raiders.

Oh there it is...silly me thinking it would be with the fluff and rules section rather than the points. :-P

Seems...different.

Why do blood angels need it? It states that you can only take reg raiders as the dedicated transports.

I guess if u filled up the heavy selections in ur army it could be good...??

I wouldn't be that scared about it, templar do it better with crusaders and they don't have to spend the points for a techmarine. Pluss takeing a 300point transport (tech points in it) seems counterproductive.

And I much prefer razorbacks if I need a transport lwith a las. You can get 2with squads for less points then the raider and tech let alone the cost of the squad.

I could see taking the flying machine over the raider option myself and as I said I don't like that thing all that much either.

Yeah, but how hard is it to take those LRs down? Could you imagine 5 of those in an army? 6? Ouch. And then you get to deal with blood crazed SM in it.

I'd probubly thank the person who played that kind of army! Especially if I played my death guard (2x wing prices, 5x plauge in rhino with 2x meltas and pfist, 2x dakka dakka preds with daemonic possession and a GD). Theyed shoot and 1/2 the time take out a rhino or whatever if there wasn't cover and get up there and just melt the raiders! :-D we had a guy who played a GK raider list in a 2250 turny... It wasn't pritty for him (he went 0-2-1 I think).

Yes it be a pain in the butt but you could also play against eldar or nids and eat lance wepons or tau with 3x hammerheads or guard with valks with vets and melta guns and medusas...ect.

I'm likeing the rhino rush list with 6x assault squads in em and maybe 1x death co with the stuborn army making guy.

Six raiders in a list?
Pfft. If we aren't playing 3000 points, he's in trouble.
Any well balanced list can deal with Land Raiders. If he's playing 5 of them, that's 1500 points, minimum, right there. Good luck fitting 1 HQ & 2 Troops into a 500 point list and have them be worth a crap.
