I still have NOT received my stuff.
Wes, have you gotten yours?
It has been a week since Nik sent me the message that the figures had been sent and still nothing.
I am no longer struggling with giving this guy a negative reference...

Anybody else got there stuff?

Everything you need to contact this guy is on this thread. Call him... talk to his Mom or dad. That worked for me.

There is another dakka regular that hasn't gotten there stuff yet. He is a U.S. servicemen overseas. If it's the last thing I do I will see Nik send everything he owes.

Enough talking to Mommy & Daddy. Call his local Police Department. Press mail-fraud charges.

Well, I received my mini's yesterday. I do have an unusual problem, though.
I called Nik last Saturday (Sept 1) and he acted shocked that I had not received the items yet. So, being a little more optimistic than I should've been, I told him that I would give him a couple of more days.

Sunday, I received an email from Paypal saying that they had pursued my claim and found in my favor. Unfortunately, because there were NO funds in Nik's paypal account (surprise), they would continue to try and reclaim my funds and take action against him.

I patiently waited until yesterday the figs arrived and everything was there that I had purchased.

I have tried to rescind the claim on paypal, but because they had closed the case I haven't found a way to remove the claim. I am in the middle of emails with paypal and we are trying to figure this out. I guess if I do get funds back, I could send them back to Nik...

I just thought I would update my end of the deal. Is there anybody else out there who did not receive their stuff?

This will be my last entry in here.
Paypal has resolved the claim I had against Nik.
This issue is over for me. Good luck to the rest of you.

I was interested in some WHFB High Elves this guy has. I of course asked him to ship first. I'd still deal with him he sent first, as no one has given him a negative yet.

Oh yeah. Thanks for reminding me.

I never got my stuff, though he said he did send it. Paypal was also unable to get my money back, too. I've decided not to call the police, as I know there are other folks doing it, and $40 isn't worth my time.

@ Deadmilkman,
It sounds like if you call and pester him (or talk to his mommy) you stand a decent chance of getting your stuff. I know it's only $40 bucks but he needs to be held responsible for his actions. Even if you don't call the cops, which I think you should if he rips you off, then you should call his house until you get your stuff or a refund. Not to sound all high and mighty and not to stray off topic, but I think everybody in this community has the responsibility to keep after and be ready to report deadbeat scammers like this. We have to police ourselves as much as possible to keep the trading community strong.

Hey Deadmilkman,

I did want to point out one very strange piece of information about my dealings with reveriestudio.
When I called him, he said that he had shipped my items out at the end of August, but I still hadn't received them by September 5th.
So, when I received the package on 9/6/07 I checked the postage and it was shipped PRIORITY USPS mail on August 24 BUT the postage paid was $0.00! I checked to see if I still have the package, but my wife must've thrown it away.
I still don't understand it, but that is what it said.
I agree with the others that you should call the number listed and talk to him.
The fact that you have not received your items makes me more inclined to leave him a negative reference. I had begun to think that everyone had gotten their stuff and it was just a personal problem that had held him up.

Learn a lesson.

Does everyone see the big problem with the "cash/buying is different then trading" theory now?? It lets low-rating traders circumvent the normal trading procedure. Its perfect for someone coming here with the intent to rip people off. It gets the trader with the higher rating to do something he normally wouldnt do- send first to an unproven trader. Learn a lesson from this.

Im very surprised this guy hasnt gotten a negative reference yet. 3 different bad trader threads. All the trouble you guys had to go thru to get your stuff, and still no negative. You guys are very kind.

I don't understand the "cash always sends first" policy either. It's inherently flawed.

Lowest should always ship first, doesn't matter if you're trading money, gold, minis, whatever.

You're still trading.
mon·ey: noun; a good that acts as a medium of exchange in transactions.
Money is a good like everything else; if your rating is lower, you ship first whether money is involved or not.

You know, I held my tongue on this as long as I could but I just have to get it off my chest. The one thing about this whole ordeal that stuck out and bothered me the most was this kids username "ReverieStudio". Anybody reading that might logically assume that he is some sort of painting business or something and it sorts of lends him a little bit of instant credibility in some eyes. I don't know if that was a calculated move on his part or if he ever intended to rip anybody off or not, but that one aspect was a huge red flag to me once the people started reporting that they were getting nothing and he was out of contact. I guess what I'm trying to say is be mindful of little things like that when you trade with people, especially new people here. We need new blood but here we are once again dealing with more problems from a new guy whose intentions are suspect at this point. I just don't want to see people get too upset with the system here and start ditching Bartertown because of scam artists. Just consider all of the aspects of a trade before you jump in and try to make reasonable decisions before you finalize a deal. Like Starslayer and Insidious have stated it's not always the best idea to send payment first, especially with a completely new trader.
