Sorry for not replying, i've been out of town on a family emergency and then had to come home and work twelve hour days at work. So your package was sent out today, i'm very sorry for the long delay and wish i could have gotten it out sooner, again i'm very sorry.

I will wait and see what happens.

Hopefully he got delivery confirmation or can scan the receipt, I don't plan to cancel the PayPal dispute until I see that a package is on its way to me.

Do you have a delivery confirmation number for it? When you didn't respond to me for two weeks, I posted on the Bad Trader Forum, and there were several folks that reported having bad dealings with you. So I went ahead and filed a dispute with PayPal to get my money back.

Since I can't re-file that dispute once I cancel it, I just want to make sure that the package has been sent before I cancel it. If you didn't get delivery confirmation, a scanned receipt would work, too.
As this is my first bad experience on B-Town, if this does work out in the end (I get my stuff, he gets his money), does it still deserve a bad trade ref? Or does it get upgraded to neutral. Certainly there will be no good trade ref coming out of this.

I have been thinking about the same problem. Depending on whether he is being truthful, what kind of reference do you leave? Maybe, some of the trade giants around here will help...

I find it a little interesting that he sent the same message to several of the traders who have a beef with him.

It would seem he had a lot of apologies to send out, I'd send a form letter, too.

My own reaction to this situation is, at best, a neutral. He has delayed for several weeks, and it seems that it took a phone call to parents to get the ball rolling, and a fire lit under him. He should get NO reward for this.

If you get your stuff and it is fine, neutral. If you get incorrect or missing items.. negative.

As for the PayPal dispute, let it ride until you have the models IN HAND. If you do get a DC, all that proves is there is a parcel en-route.. it says nothing about the contents.

One time, not here, I got a parcel in a trade, with delivery confirmation.. and it was stuffed with GARBAGE. I mean, literally, an old dog food can (not clean), crumpled up pop cans, and candy bar wrappers. Stuff that weighed the approximate amount, but.. not the snazzy Ork lead models I wanted.

I was able to recover my initial payment thru paypal, but.. this experience sprung to mind.

If you don't have your Location listed in your User Control Panel, why not take a second and update it? It will let your trading partners know where you are from the beginning.

I use the Unofficial Porkuslime Trading Guidelines - if you have way less refs.. you ship first.

Folks I am awaiting a ref from.. Zack

Nothing yet for me. I'd hate to talk to his parents again.

i sent him another e-mail. Hopefully he will respond and get on the stick.

My feed back will be negative without a doubt.

While I don't consider myself a "Trade Giant," I guess I'd be a "Trade Ogre"...or, Half-Ogre, at least... LOL
My initial thought is to say to leave a neutral... but, then there's THIS, from KBolster's thread:
Posted: Fri Aug 24, 2007 9:57 am Post subject:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I called "mom's" Number and left a message. It picked up very quickly so maybe the phone is off. I left the message open to have someone contact me here and said that if I didn't hear anything soon I would press charges. BTW I asked him to contact me here but that would be hard if the guy is banned. I didn't think of that when I left the message!

Well I guess we will se what happens
.

Nobody received their emails until AFTER this.
If it's a kid who got chewed out from Mom because of this, then he's doing it for the WRONG reasons, and lying in the message.

I don't know... I think I'd leave a negative.

I wish neutral's didn't give a 1-point bump. Then, I'd leave a neutral and explain how close it was to being a negative.

Hope this helps.

Eric

As far as I'm concerned, a BTR automatically earns a negative feedback.

I am writing that into the next iteration of Bartertown rules as soon as Adam gets the coding done. I'm also codifying the requirements to post a BTR, so please forgive any vague statements that follow as I am straddling rule sets.

Rationale: If someone F's up a trade SO BADLY that you need to post something here to call them out (note that you do need to try contacting them first before slamming it up here), they deserve the permanent reminder.

I'd leave a negative. If you have to make calls to the Traders parents to get your stuff he doesn't belong on Bartertown at all.

This is why I won't send first to someone with such a low rating even when "buying". Many had higher ratings then this guy but paid first. Big mistake. He was a unproven trader. If a scammer comes to Btown he can get around the normal protocol(of lower rating sends first) with most people by saying "buying" is different. Don't fall in that trap.
