Google Ads

As some of you have noticed, we're testing out Google ads for a fraction of the banner ad postings. They won't tell anyone how much money you'll make until you actually do it and when you do it, there's some gianormous algorithm that computes how much money they give you, which again, they won't tell you how they compute that exactly.

SO, there's still a ton of the old advertisers up there and we're still hashing out what we want to do with this whole thing, let me know what you guys think!

I'm not what you'd call a regular poster but I do read the ads a lot. Really appreciate you hosting the forum and think whatever you need to do to offset your cost is a good idea. Most forums I read are going to this and it dosn't detract from them at all. If it helps you out I'm all for it. After all, i haven't paid anything to use Bartertown.

I am for it. I click on the ads every time I come in knowing that it helps you to pay for the cost of running the board.

The response has been lukewarm at best... we shall see. Google's terms of service dictate that I can't tell you specifics, but I'm not impressed yet.

Are they difficult for you to have here?

Shoot. they're not hurting anyone and, even if your profit is slim... it's still a profit, darn it.

Now, if there's a lot of work on your part to keep them running right, then it might not be worth it... but if it's relatively hands free for you... Shoot. keep 'em.
Every extra nickel you get is just that... extra money.

Anyone who wants to complain about them can give you some money every month and you can remove them.
