Bad Trader: spectersix

Post by TheKiiier »

I hoped to never have to use this part of the site but since I've been left no choice I've decided to follow up here before getting the authorities involved.

Note a few things when reading the the below:

When we started this he had a trade ref rating of 8, though as you'll see that for the sake of arguement the "real" dealing could be said to start when he had a 10. In the time where he has not responded he has recieved another ref and has posted another trade listing so there should be no reason he shouldn't be able to have contacted me or "missed" the fact that I've been trying to contact him.

When comparing our locations it should be noted that there's no question that if he had shipped even without tracking the package should have been here long ago so that excuse can be excluded with me having given him more than enough time to complete the deal on his end.

I have tried to put all the messages between us in order from the latest at top to the oldest at the bottom. If I misplaced one or if it seems like I left one out please tell me and I'll go over it again to make it's all there and correct.

Also, if you know the name of the guy on here who says he has worked or still does work at the US postal service please pass that info along so that I can talk to him about what I need to do to get my money back from that money order.

Message log below:

I still haven't beard back from you and as I said before tracking shows that the package was delivered on the 14th. Have you shipped out the Whirlwind and Predator yet and if so could you send me the tracking info?

Okay, $30 plus the pump wagon for both tanks works for me. Since you use Delivery Confirmation we can simul-ship even with your lower rating and when I ship I'll write you with the DC# and would like the same.

1 Orc Shaman on Boar - new bare metal, alternate/regular/command metal Orc head, regular plastic boar head, missing base.

1 Savage Orc Boar Boyz - new bare metal, "horns" command head, command body 2, 4 spikes spear arm, missing base.

LMK if your interested in adding these to the pump wagon for the two tanks.

Yup, I usualy prefer to trade retail for retail but this time this'll work for me, even better would be if you have a Predator sprue or bitz laying around to add-on to the deal (as I have a ton of unbuilt Rhino's doing nothing for me that could do with an upgrade lol) though you never mentioned such in your ad just "bits" if memory serves me right but worth a shot if I could get all I'm looking for in one go from a single person and to closer match retail.

I can ship almost immediately after you do if you put some sort of tracking on the package like Delivery Confirmation if via USPS and send me the #/info to speed things along and cut down on turn-around time of waiting for your stuff to get to me if you'd like. LMK

First, you never should have shipped to him. He hasn't earned the right for simultaneous shipping.

That said, I would definitely file a complaint with his local PD to let him know that you're serious.

Best of all, he received a package through the US Mail, and he received (and cashed) a Postal Money Order. This is US Mail, so you can get the US Postal Inspectors involved, in addition to his local police department.

I would send him an e-mail demanding the following:
- that he mail your stuff within 48 hours (2 days)
- that he provide the DC# within 72 hours (3 days)
- that the stuff arrive with 4 business days

Explain to him that you have contacted his local police department. If he fails to follow through, you will press charges and go to the Post Office and contact the US Postal Inspectors.

I would remind him that what he is doing is Mail Fraud, which carries fairly serious penalties ($100,000) and Federal prison time (5 years), and that you will push for the maximum penalties to be applied if he fails to follow through.

Then give him the time that he is allowed. If he doesn't have a good answer by the weekend, drop the hammer on him.

At best, he deserves a Neutral report. But right now, he's a Bad Trader.

Please post your own Bad Trader Report should you choose to do so. It is generally frowned upon to post a BTR in someone's else's thread.

Enough is enough. You guys should both give this guy a Negative reference. At the very least, IF you ever get the stuff he owes you,he did not do it in a timely fashion. Other Bartertownians should be warned.

Stevenswayze you got lucky and dodged a bullet on that other trade with him. Smart move.

Oh sorry, my bad. I was more just identifying with the poster, as opposed to attempting to steal his thunder. I guess I thought one of the reasons to post in the BTR was to get any other accounts.

You should both leave Negative Feedback.

Also, a Mod should split Stevenswayze's post off to a new topic.

Not to go OT, but Mods can't we just make "Don't tack your own BTR unto someone else's" a rule???

It's been happening like crazy lately it seems and it's getting old quick.
Trading Guidelines:
1. Lower rating ships first - even if I am purchasing.
2. If you agree to buy something, you have 72hrs. in which to pay. If payment is not received in 72hrs., I will automatically post a Non-Payment/Backout thread.
3. Refs are left upon positive receipt of goods, NEVER beforehand!
4. I accept Paypal & USPS money orders and charge for shipping AT COST. I make no profit from it.
5. I trade NIB/new models at retail.

Yes for christs sake make it an official rule! I read the rules fully, before I ever posted on the forum and thought I was up to speed but there are secret rules, and layers of faux pas to deal with too.

My trade score is 2! :-D I am not an old veteran forum troll. It seems counter intuitive to need each complaint to be a new thread to be honest. Jason Ticknor would be 5 pages of posts. Instead it seemed to make sense to have a thread that just read "TraderX" and a catalogue of bad trades to peruse in one place? If thats annoying(lately or whenever) I deeply apologize. One day maybe I will have read enough of these things to where that stuff will bother me and I can complain when someone else does it(I can only hope!). :-P

Anyways, just cut me some slack is all I ask, I rectified the slight. Thankyou for your boundless patience

Steven: Chill, it's cool.

My last comment wasn't specifically directed @ you. I asked if it could be made a rule because I agree, "nowhere does it say you shouldn't (or that it's frowned upon)" and it certainly should.

There's been a lot of "tacking on" lately, and I think it would make everyone's life a lot easier (not to mention clearing up BTRs for relevant posts).

Its no problem man. I put as many Emoticons to keep it light as possible. I was not so much mad as "Holy crap 3 people have posted to complain in the time it took me to rectify the 1st persons complaint".

Anyways, I am the noob here, and its your house, so lemme know and I'll take off my shoes before stepping on the carpet

It should just be common sense (but so are most Federal Laws). We're in the process of clarifying many rules and doing a general re-write, so I'll bring this up when the topic arises.

Just so that you know, since you are new after all, the reason we like to have individuals report their own BTR's is manyfold, the least of which being we approach all cases on an individual basis. As such, each person is entitled to their own say, and their own space in which to say it. One case may be valid, whereas another case may not be SO valid.

I have seen people try to 'jump in' on a BTR in the past (much like a person would jump in on a class action suit) even though they weren't really eligible, thinking they were going to get some sort of recoup for their "loss." The person in question was upset because he felt he got insulted during the trade process and felt the need to share his "bad trade" within another person's legitimate BTR.

There are other reasons that do not fit into the context of this post, but I hope that offers some insight.

In this case the rules are being rewritten.

They will be updated as soon as we get something set in stone. there are a lot of annoying minor rule breakers out there that are exploiting what we thought we air tight rules.

They are all lawyers I think.
