The Drop Zone: No Response

Post by kbolster12345 »

Not sure if this belongs here or the Help forum because really what I am looking for is an update. I hope that this not a true bad trader reporting.

So. Robert (The Drop Zone) made a very public offer to help another trader and I solve a problem. It was a very unselfish offer and both the other party and I were releaved that he offered such an amiable solution.

Here is a link to that thread:

viewtopic.php?t=37799

Well it's been a month and I have recieved nothing. I was sent an email about two weeks ago stating the items should have arrived that afternoon and would be out the next day. (I will add this email later. I can do it know because it's on a private email and I am at work) Well, like I said, it's been two weeks and nothing has showed up. So I sent this message along with emails from both accoutns:

Robert,

Hey. It's been two weeks since you siad you would be mailing. I am wondering if there were any problems or what is going on.

Thanks,
Kevin
I have had no response. I am a little troubled by this and would like a response because the other party that paid needs to figure out if he needs to reverse the charges. We also need too that we can get back to resolving the issue on our own. Personally both the other party and myself hope that The Drop Zone comes through for us as he said he would.

Thanks for any help.
If I don't get what I think I am getting you will be sending me money for me to ship it back to you. So be very certain I know what I am getting.

Also more of what I don't want doesn't make up for not getting what I agreed upon.

Either will result in negative feedback, posting of our records in the appropriate section of bartertown, and possible mailfruad. Otherwise don't trade with me.

Just so you know, Robert has been suspended from this domain for two weeks. (March 01 through March 15) However that is not stopping him from responding to Bartertown customers. Please use his e-mail to contact him.

Well like I said I have sent him two emails and no response. i guess that does not bode well.

Your previous BTR is a tad confusing after skimming through it. It sounds like a three way trade. But just out of curiosity, are you still awaiting $150 from Robert or items on the invoice list?

We are awaiting the items. Ken bought them from Robert to replace modles that Ken lost. It's kind of upsetting because Ken wouldn't have paid for those models from Robert if it wasn't for him saying he would help.

I just don't understand because he was so good at contacting us and replying before.

Please keep comments related to kbolster's trade. This is not a smear thread.

For those wondering, Robert's suspension has absolutely nothing to do with his store nor bad trader reports against him.

I also notice that there are a number of OOP models on that list.
Did he order them through GW?

If so, then you should know that those are ordered as Bitz.

Do we need to revisit GW and their Bits policies?

The only place I've ever seen any luck with GW and bits is when ordered directly through the web site.

Even through a GW store has taken ridiculously long for me in the past.

P.S. I would think that, if you are not accusing him of "bad behavior," that this should be moved out of the Bad Trader thread. That's just this user's opinion, however.

I think what this situation needs is some imagination.

This wasn't a BTR the original thread was in the Help section.

The list posted is a snipit from the thread and Ken aggreed to replace the OOP stuff with curent versions bought from Robert at his store. Actually the "replacement list" was different because there are some OOP stuff that aren't replaceable with current stuff. But it's not an important detail becuase the important thing is that I need to get in touch with Robert.

For the record I have no animosity to Robert (the Drop Zone). He would be doing Ken and I a huge favor by helping us to resolve an unfortunate issue. The purpose of my post was to try to get help reaching him so that Ken and I can move forward with resolving the issue. So I guess i agree with you Magical. At the moment it is sort of in that Grey area.

Have you tried him directly? 704-236-4329, taken off his site. Hope all goes as it should.
As a general rule, if you don't like my offer, please barter with me.

LOL great idea. I should hit myself in the head with a shoe for not thinking of it myself.

Thanks,
Kevin

I just received an email from Robert. There has been a death in his family and he was attending the funeral. He acknowledges having a huge backlog of emails and stated that he is going through them. He also will not be able to post on the site or return PMs until the 15th.
If I owe you a reference, please let me know. I accidentally deleted my PMs.

Thank you for the update. Really it's appreciated.

I don't mean to be a pain to the guy especially because he is doing us a favor.

I'm not sure if this is the right place or not to speak up, but it does relate to Robert at The Drop Zone.

In late August of last year, I preordered 3 Battle for Skull Pass sets from the Drop Zone and was assured that they would arrive 4-12 days after their release (sept 9). They did not arrive in that window of time, so I waited. I am located in Canada, so I assumed they would take more tme. I contacted Robert and he told me he lost my order, but would order more and send them with 2 weeks. Still nothing arrived. I contacted him again, and he said they must have gotten lost in the mail and that he did not have a tracking number for them. He said he would 'eat the loss' and order and send a third time. This time I asked for a tracking number and since then he has not responded to me.
It is now March and has been so long that all our communications have been deleted from the BT servers. I went to open a dispute on ebay, but learned that you can only do so after 45 days of making payment. For those 45 days Robert was in contact and I believed him...
I am patient and still hope this transaction works out, but it is has been a while and am on the verge of leaving bad feedback. I will wait until he is unsuspended before moving towards bad feedback.

I should note that at the same time that I ordered the BfSP sets, I also ordered a 7th Ed rule book, which I did recieve, albeit many weeks late.

Dave,I think you have to start your own thread. You have to show some proof,if you have any left after waiting this long. BFSP was a very busy time for TDZ I'm sure,i Had a delay on my order too. But it was cleared up. Email him and PM him again about it, I'm sure he'll get back to you.

It's hard to believe that 1 person can have so many outstanding trades/sales.

Robert is truely in a predicament. There are atleast 3 other posters on Dakka in a similar situation. Regardless of Robert's current familial situation, which I do regret, this does not absolve him of his responsibility. Robert was very quick to ask for advice on a situation that cost him $4.55. I agreed with him in principle and felt a negative reference was warranted for the other trader. I also feel all the people who have not received their stuff from Robert should post a reference that they feel is appropriate.

The whole point of the FB system is to let others know the type of person they are dealing with. How many of you waiting on deliveries from Robert would have sent $$ or minis to him if you knew there was a good possibility that you would have to wait a significantly long time to get your items?

From what I have seen, Robert is a good guy. I don't think he is out to screw anyone, but having 4 separate bad trader reports on 1 page is something to make you wonder why anyone deals with him. The people holding off on dinging his FB aren't helping anyone. If anything, you are setting other people up to be in the same boat. Maybe, just maybe, if Robert received the the actual FB he seems to deserve, he would fix whatever the problem is.
