I painted a stompa back in one of the previous challenges. I'll go look at what it was valued.

In 2015, I painted a ton of big guys, including a stompa. I also assembled a harridan.

Harridan was agreed to be 20 points. Stompa was 15 (page 40 something).

It was also the year I painted like 5 or 6 imperial knights. Man I was on a roll that year.

more than 40, since it's the size of a Gargant, or a bit bigger.
Like I said each limb is the size of a wraith knight, which is 10 points?
The 2 stone columns are the size of the wraith knight. That's the biggest model I own to compare it to.

2 columns, 4 limbs, equaling wraith knight are 60. the chest and head..? 10? 20 points more?

more like 70 or 80 points, but it all moot anyway since I'm still only going to me in 2nd place.

BUT... it shows something that I stated a while ago. The points need to be less subjective. Yes, the small stuff is all plotted out, but bigger models, tanks, titans et c., aren't.

we had the discussion before, and it went nowhere.

Yeah I think points needs to be a bit more clarified indeed. We originally just grouped like models together, but I feel there should be a bit more of a separation. Maybe next year, who knows.

Every year lol

I have been working on something for next year's challenge. But its far from share worthy yet. However, I'm hoping next year we see a lot more people taking part.

As for the Cthulhu, it is definitely far bigger than a Gargant. I'm okay with 70-80 points if others are. It's a very unique model in itself.

Points aren't always about size, though... In the past, the quality of the paint job and model's complexity has played a part. His leg might be bigger than the wraithknight, but the wraithknight is more complicated than both of his legs and the pillars combined.
I mean, don't get me wrong... it doesn't look like you just painted his body green and called it finished. : ) I'm not saying that at all.
But it seems like you could probably get both of the legs painted, and probably the pillars, in the time it takes to paint a wraithknight carefully enough so that it looks good (picking out gems, etc).

However... it is freaking HUGE.
I don't think 50 points is too much for it.

Posted before I was caught up. Didn't realize you guys got to page 6. : )
I don't see an issue with those points.

As for 3eland's idea?
It's not quite ready to even be up for discussions yet.

we've had bonus points added when model was done above the norm. for extra work and detail.

also compare some 1 point models for example. necron warriors, and tzeentch pink horrors. both are pretty simple and can crank out a bunch with minimal effort.

the take a 1 point Captain or named character. you can have hours of work, for only 1 point.

and back to my comment, question.
if not now, when?
