Giant GW posters
Good day all!
I was wondering what stores did with the giant posters they get for products after they have run their course. Example is this large Stormcaster poster: I want it! But what happens with it? Is it shipped back to GW? Is it sold on eBay? Thrown in the garbage?
I need to know!
Thanks all,
Ryan

Re: Giant GW posters
Used to occasionally get movie posters back when I had a local video store. If it's like that, it's a first-come first-serve reservation sorta' thing, and there's a strictly gaming club in my area that has a few old GW posters, so there's a good chance it's store prerogative.

Re: Giant GW posters
They used to hold them for in-store auctions, but they probably now give them to staff on a "first-come" basis, then to preferred customers, etc.
I am always in the market for weird and wonderful GW oddbitz and ephemera. PM me if you have something old/weird/rare.

Re: Giant GW posters
A now defunct local GW used to hold onto this stuff. There was a summer campaign once, where you earned points for different things. At the end of the summer, you could use your points at auction for some stuff they had. I remember there were tons of bits, some posters and a GW polo shirt mixed amongst the items.
I got a polo, tons of metal shoulder pads and a long, narrow poster with a Space Marine on it.

Lower rating? You ship first.
Give me a sense of humor Lord. Give me the grace to see a joke.

I think what this situation needs is some imagination.

Re: Giant GW posters
They trade on eBay now and then.
You could always reach out to your local GW (or even FLGS) and see if they can hook you up.
That's how I got my pimp Calgar banner.

Re: Giant GW posters
I'll try to remember when I go into the local GW store next and ask them if/what they have left and would give me.
No promises.

I've sent a message to my local GW, I'll let you know what she says. If I can get one, you'll have to come to Ottawa to pick it up though
info about shipping: Lower ratting pays/ship first and I live in Canada.

Found a better quality picture of the poster.
Tell me that isn't the coolest poster you have ever seen for a GW product.

Re: Giant GW posters
Yep. I have a vintage one, and, of course, the (much smaller) 25th anniversary version.
I'm also rather fond of the Black Templar card board stand up.

Re: Giant GW posters
Man, I loved the chaotic dark kind of weird religious crappy perspective shots, like that one, the sisters of battle, 3rd edition cover. I think just about all of my favorite single shots were from the Inquisition book, though the only one I know was a poster was that badass teaser cover... kinda' wish I still had that.
