Rule #12: Ad posting - Clarification
It was brought to my attention that several users are blanking out their advertisements and titles with “Delete This.â€

Seconded.
Also, fair warning - anyone giving the moderators a rash about being heavy-handed will answer to me. If you have an issue with them, take it up with me.

Well correct me if I'm wrong, but can't the owner of the post just delete it himself through the editiing process?
Either that or through editing, just say, "All items are sold, thanks" or whatever to clarify that your stuff is sold?
I would think that should or would be an acceptable procedure, would it not?

Regular users no longer have php permissions to physically delete their own post. This was removed as it was too abused. We saw users deleting ads and then reposting every three days trying to get around the seven day period. Posts labled "Delete" on any trading forum are not removed by admins or moderators. There is one exception. When a user is given a warning for violating rule #12, all posts of that user on that particular forum are removed except his most current. Of course warnings are bad.npd_bigdaddy wrote:Well correct me if I'm wrong, but can't the owner of the post just delete it himself through the editiing process?

By all means edit your thread as "All items are sold, thanks." I am simply pointing out 1 thread means 1 thread period. Even if you remove all content from a thread, a new one may not be created on the same forum until seven days of posting the previous one.
