hapotte stop tempting me with Batman! :)

3e, that airbrush work is fantastic! I'm working on an Eldar army right now in more of a Saim-Hann scheme with my airbrush, but it's still taking forever. I almost wished I'd primered deep red from Rustoleum, based in Vallejo red and then zenithal highlight in orange. I just did Army Painter red primer, and red/orange Vallejo mix on top which looks good but I needed to add some shadows. So now I'm going through and 'black lining' all 50 Guardians which is...taking forever :)

How did you get the nice shadows?

@Dez - My process is actually really simple. I prime it black (mostly because I only have black primer atm). Then hit the model with a bone colour -I didn't want too bright of a base. Then I hit the model with pure yellow. With the bone underneath the yellow goes on so nice, I find it works better than a white base. Then I hit the back with a red, the front quarter with orange (facing the red) and the back quarter with purple (facing the yellow). Lastly I wash it with the GW purple wash. Since the purple is the darkest colour on the model, I chose a purple as a wash to blend the colours together. The wash goes into the recesses and gives that shade look but since it is purple, it works. I make sure to wet a brush and clean off any high parts of the model since I don't want the lighter colours to darken too much (and washes aren't incredibly accurate on drying - even with medium).

It's quick and easy, just have to work with a colour (usually the darkest) on your model and as long as you babysit it (don't let it pool, brush off excess, etc) then it gives a pretty decent shadow look without spending too much time.

I thought about doing line edges with highlights but I didn't want to put too much colour into them since they were fairly colourful to begin with. I might try it on a test model and see if it works.

For the rest of you, apologies on not uploading the Flyer and Vypers, was busy and then when I did have time I got distracted with a Farseer. Here are the pics, I think the gold really helps break it up and sell the look more. Kudos to Spiraling for kicking my butt into actually doing it LOL. Still waiting on my lightbox (was back ordered, I bought an entire photography kit so comes with the lights, the "box", everything) so please excuse the paintbooth pics:

Isn't what I thought you meant with the gold (inverted), but it looks really snazzy. I think it looks nicest on the flier.

Oh you thought I did the glass?

Yeah agreed, the flier has the cockpit near the purple though which pulls it off so much better.

Finally finished the 1st batch of 5 Harlies. 5 points.

4 Skyweavers. Some how, I lost the other 2 bases. I started building and painting them weeks ago when they were released. I've moved them and put them in new storage boxes. Somewhere the bases disappeared. 3 points each. 12 points.

17 points total.

I still have 18 metal and FC Harlies and 6 weaver riders for the the alt mount; to paint.
3 Eldar jetbikes to paint.
3 new Windriders to build and paint.
3 walkers, 66? guardians 3 wave serpants, 2 falcons and at least 1 squad of each aspect warrior to paint. I think I have 6, old and new Death Jesters.

I'm pretty much burnt out on yellow/blue and party colors.
