Okay, I have a question

this occured to me last year, at a different place, so i can't do much but I want to know how to do it for future and current knowledge.

If I have conducted a trade with somebody, and i shipped first.

Then I have kept on pm'ing few days, i get a notice that it will be shipped out.
Then a week passes, nothing arrived yet.
Month passes, i tell him i'm not angry, and that i'm understandable and everything is okay. He sends the package yet it doesnt come.

Blah blah blah then it has been after a few months later, I still keep in touch with him, but i never recieve my package, then all of the sudden he stops replying to me.

Problem now is, its been MONTHS and well last year, I dont have the messages saved up all the way back to where we have begun our trade, yet i have the ones that are most recent to where he stopped talking to me.

So therefore:
I lack the proof to bring anythign solid against him? And things like posting bad reference with evidence holds not true, and I can't put him up for mail fraud?

Is my thinking right?
Not like I care much anymore.. as I have soaked the hits.. but i want to know if there was anything I could have done.

ITs just what I have been told when I tried to 'finally' take action when it was REALLY late. Me being stupid.
