Problems Staying Logged in?

Post by TrademasterAdam »

If you are having problems staying logged in.

1. Go to tools -> options
2. Clear ALL Bartertown.com, www.Bartertown.com, www.Warhammer40k.com and Warhammer40k.com cookies.
3. Close your browser
4. Open your browser and let me know if you are still having problems here!

Hello TrademasterAdam, I am still having issues. I believe that I have deleted my cookies. What is going on? Any ideas?

Something is still busted, I'm rebuilding the page from scratch and should be done tonight.

NO DATA WILL BE LOST.

Could it be a timing problem? If I spend more than 30 seconds typing a message of any sort, I have to relog.

This is now fixed!!!

The server clock was messed up. Basically, it thought you log in at 8:00 am, the server's clock was at 10:00 am and so it said "hey, you haven't logged in for two hours, log in again".

Post here if it isn't working. There are several things on the site which are broken and will get fixed tonight (uploading files, smilies, etc.)

Adam-

The logout when posting is fixed, but it still logs me out when I go to the discussion side.

Yeah, I have to still tie the two together. You should be able to log into the discussion side separately and it will work.

If you are going through your favorites, deleting just your cookies may not help. For both firefox and IE users, delete any and all bookmarks related to www.bartertown.com and www.warhammer40k.com Next login using the remember me feature. Once logged in, bookmark the homepage again. Close your browser and then revisit the site through your bookmarks. Repeat for www.warhammer40k.com. I had login problems with both IE and firefox. After removing all my temp files and cookies, I was still unable to login. By doing what I mention above, I have had no problems since.

Perhaps the issue might be that the cookie being placed isn't persistent?

I just looked in my cookie list in Firefox adn tehere is now bartertown cookie at all. Even after I logged in there was none listed.

It's now working fine for me. Stays logged in after closing browser and transfer rom trading to discussion. Ratings are also back like they were. Good job!! I notice you can't upload avatars (mine used to always erase itself after I left anyway, but I thought I'd mention it).
