I've done the "hole punch" thing before. Never again.

I don't have a problem with slippage. The trick is to use 2 hands.
When I was making my own rivets, I'd put the glue dots where I wanted them to be. I'd use the sharp point of an xacto knife to gently stab the rivet, then place it where I wanted it. I would use a 2nd xacto knife to apply downward pressure on it (with the blunt side) while removing the sharp point. The trick is to not use so much glue that it oozes everywhere. Otherwise, it can overflow onto your tools (which is a REAL pain in the butt).
While doing this, you're not actually holding the model. It's just sitting there.

I undestand. Here are some other suggestions:

1. Plastic rod and a sharp knife. Cut thin slices off the rod et voila! Instant rivets. You can buy plastic rod in a variety of diameters from anywhere that sells model railway stuff, remote control vehicle kits or similar.

2. Here is a tip on how ForgeWorld does theirs:

Get a brita water filter and crack it open (i advise a box big enough to contain it or you will have a mess on the floor). these filters have tiny little pellets of minerals inside them.
Get your pin drill with a tiny bit and drill a small indent where you want the rivet. Dab superglue in the hole and get a spare brush or a pin, wet it slightly so the ball of mineral sticks to the tip via friction/viscosity, and place mineral pellet in the hole. If you want orky rivets or generally bigger rivets the plastic rod way is perfect.

3. Here are some links!:

Definitely not looking to make my own. The "plasticard rod" method is what I've done previously. I will seriously stab someone if I EVER have to do that again. I'm not ABOUT to make 200+ rivets like that. LOL
I'm looking for a "glue and go" method here. : )
Things like the antecoti's are what I'm looking for.
