Magnetising Necron arks

Post by kturock »

Has anyone done this?
I don't have the model yet. 1 of the local players says he has 1 of each and it's not worth the effort to magnetise 1 to make it into both styles.

So has anyone tried this?
Heh, I was called a Grognard. ;-)

"Worth it" depends on your time. I worked through it and it will need between 34-44 different magnets:
-2 magnets + pins for the main body so you can rotate it
-2 magnets + pins for the Doomsday gun- you may be able to use the same pins and magnets for the body rotation but it will require careful planning)
- 2 Magnets for each of the warriors in the Ghost Ark version= 20 magnets
-If you can position those right you may be able to use them for the sponson guns in the Doomsday version = 10 magnets, if not then you need another 10 more.

I did play around with and idea of running a bar along the inside of the spines to attache the sponson guns and the warriors to, and only use 2 magnets at either end (so 4 magnets on the body, + 4 rails and 2 magnets each = 12 magnets) but couldn't get one that looked good.

YMMV but ti didn't seem worth it to me.
Positive feedback I have left for but have not received any in return: Stephen, oldgamer56

If you didn't look at my location know that I am in Canada
