Post by sfsct3172 »

Intro:

Kodiak888 contacted me about a posting I had in April. His first request was already sold so I told him and deleted the emails. He wrote back to me proposing a new trade. He was intent on acquiring a number of SFB ships Federation, Romulan, Klingon and a mix of the other races plus a painted FT fleet of ships. Total worth about $200 to me. If you want me to calculate store price Im sure it is way more. In the end we worked out a deal for me to get a number of Babylon 5 ships and fighters to a equal price. There was no indication that he was trying to mislead me or deceive me. I even received pictures of some of the ships. His references were all good and I didn't see any issue. According to BT rules I had the lower rating and shipped first. Then...nothing. I have emailed him inside and outside BT.

Proof:
"Kodiak888 inquired after pictures of the Full Thrust ships I had in addition to the mentioned HGB Flails he talks about below. My sent email was erased because he hadn't responded. Then the email below came in a while later. "

Hello,

No worries about the flails. I've decided to get into 15mm gaming and I had read on someone's blog that the flails can make good 15mm sci fi mechanical solders, but they'd probably be better served with someone who wants them to keep in the Heavy Gear universe.

The fighters are not mounted, most are bare metal with no work done to them yet, or flash cleaned off at best. I have kept ~12 of each type for myself to use in whatever dog-fighter/small scale air support games I'll ever get into, but have acquired a lot of extras included in various other trades, and don't think I'll ever have a use for 20 more Narn Frazis. I'll take some pictures and reply to your e-mail with the full thrust pictures.

Thanks,
Adam

Hello,

The FT ships look great, thanks for the pictures. I sent some pictures of the B5 fighters as well. I tried to take some close up pictures so you can see how detailed the sculpts are, as well as pick some that were tinted a little darker than just the bright pewter/white metal so they wouldn't be so washed out in the light. The Earth and Minbari Nials are 2 pieces, so I included one assembled and one unassembled so you can see the pieces. I also included a picture of some of the Earth fighters I have painted so you could see them done up. I'd probably have been better served just finding some of the amazing paint jobs I've seen online, but I think I'm a little less than average so they're realistic paint jobs for the lot of us poor folks imo. The bases were some early attempts at using removable barrel clasps, and some wire, so they're hideous, but none that I'd be shipping you would include those monstrosities.

Some more of the Earth and Minbari ships have a thin coat of primer than I remember, but I should have enough bare metal minis to trade without having to dip into those if it's a problem. None of them have enough on them to be an issue unless you're a a pro-painter that doesn't want to let them sit in some simple green overnight.

Thanks,
Adam

Brian,

I apologize for not being able to get back to you sooner; I've had a bit of craziness at the house with a plumbing leak and haven't had any time to sit down at the computer and put time toward my hobbies, not to mention losing a large chunk of my hobby-money. It looks like I might even have another problem with the upstairs bathroom so it's going to be fun month trying to fix and pay for the damages and materials. Insult to injury, Rebelminis is having their summer sale now as well.

On to a bit better news, I am still very interested in your lots if they're still available. For trades I try to keep it about equivalent retails, so the 35 fighters and Terran FA box against your FIB and FT lot puts me around $30 or so over retail wise. Would you have a problem throwing in some of your Star Fleet Battles ships to bring it a little closer, or perhaps working out a smaller trade? I'd be interested most interested in the Klingon or your Gorn/Lyra/mixed ships depending on what they are. If you'd like to go that route would you mind sending some pictures to "atmcl@yahoo.com" so I can see exactly what they are? Either way works for me, and as long as I can avoid more flooding, fire, tornados, or whatever else is destined to hurt my summer I shouldn't take another week to reply.

Thank you,
Adam

Hey,

Do you mind shooting over the pictures of the SFB ships? Many are hard to tell apart (for me at least) so having the pictures would be easiest.

Thanks again,
Adam

I can't find this email, but I sent him a link to pics of the ships.

Hello,

I apologize again for not replying in a polite amount of time. A friend of mine came over and gave me a box full of 15mm troops, mechs, and vehicles that he has been looking to get rid of, so I've been putting off replying to all of my pending 15mm trades while trying to go through it all. I want to sort through it all and figure out what I need for a balanced army before picking up any more lots of 15mm troops, but if you're still interested in the B5 ships, I would still really like to pick up your FT ships in trade.

Thanks,
Adam

How about the FT ships with the SFB ships that you were interested in (Klingon and the Lyra/Gorn, etc. mix) for the Earth and Centarui B5 fighters of equal value?

Hello,

That sounds great to me. I'd actually be game for swapping out my spare B5 fighters for your Federation and Romulan lots as well, especially if the Narn/Minbari fighters were of any interest as well. I'm happy with the Full Thrust and SFB already discussed though if you already have some other offers or would like to hold off on the other SFB ships. My address is

Adam Mauer

Houston, TX 77089

and I'm sure I gave it a few times, but I can be reached at "atmcl@yahoo.com" if you'd like to get ahold of me outside of bartertown. That e-mail gets pushed to my phone, so it's a good way to get my attention if I don't read a PM here quick enough.

Thanks,
Adam

If thats cool let me know and I will mail them out pronto.

Thanks,

Hello,

It isn't official yet, but it's likely those Omegas (along with a lot from my post) is promised away in several trades I've been dutifully neglecting as real life has demanded over the past few weeks. I have a three day weekend and my goal is to go through everything and confirm what I still have, what's gone, what's promised, and all of the new junk I've got around me. I was sent a batch of Romulan SFB ships which sparked my interest in picking your spares up as well, since I figured it'd be easy enough to trade them all together for something else than the B5-fighters I have dozens of and am not doing anything with for the time being.

Thanks,
Adam

Hello,

I seem to not be able to get much of a break from work, but would like to go ahead and trade for the FT and Kling/Misc SFB ships. Once the dust settles and I can catch up with everything, if you still have the Fed and Romulan lots I may want to pick those up later as well, but am having trouble trying to juggle all of the my pending trades on top of regular life, so want to take what I've got so far before too many people go elsewhere.

Thank you,
Adam

Hello,

Actually this may have worked out a bit better than originally since I'm getting some replies in. The person getting some of the B5 minis agreed on a smaller trade, so if you're still interested in the x4 Omegas + fighters for the FT + SFB lots I can do that. Either way is fine, just let me know so I can get it all boxed up and ready for you. And again my apologies for being such a difficult trader at the moment. I'm not usually this flip flopped.

My address is:

Adam Mauer
10527 Sagewillow Ln
Houston, TX 77089

and my e-mail is "atmcl@yahoo.com" if you'd like to get ahold of me outside of BT, which is pushed to my phone so I can check and reply fairly regularly.

Thanks,
Adam

Hi,
I sent everything according to our trade almost a month ago. I have received no email, nor a box with the agreed upon B5 ships, from you or response to my emails. I have done everything on my side of this. Please contact me. If your busy let me know because I just sent a lot of stuff to you. This trade is not running very smoothly.

I've tried everything short of going to his physical address...which if possible I would. He just completely dropped off the edge of the world....oh wait its round isn't it. Anyways, if he comes back...I'll be waiting.

Don't know if this helps but I've traded a lot with Adam. Strange thing is he bought a big lot from me in April and paid and I sent him the stuff and the message I sent telling him it's shipped is still sitting in my outbox unread by him since the end of April. It's like he just disappeared, which worries me because he is a good guy.
