Thought about it but decided I didn't need another minis game, the penny arcade references almost got me to buy in tho.

Oi,

so got the DV box finally, wasn't that sure about it, but the kid wanted it. Very good models inside, quite happy with the Dark Angels models. I left the Chaos part on sprues for now, i'll see what i do with them later.

Otherwise, i wet my pants twice this morning seeing this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... S0ZaG9xEIA#!

to do a short list:
-FellBlade
-Jetbikes
-Cataphract Termi Armour (might even think about selling my Tartaros....)
-Comm Marine based on RT version
-Land Raider with demo cannon
-Special Characters (Saul Travitz is in)

Hi there,

couple of updates since last time:

1/new acquisitions:
-FW Luna wolves Limited Ed. T-shirt.... yeah i know, a bit over the top

-NIB shrink wrapped mk1 predator, the 2nd edition boxset but still a good add-on in my collection

-Black Library Chap Book 2012 as well as Brotherhood of the storm

-DeX Chaos, new book, actually had a lot of fun reading it and it's really well made, if all future dex are of that quality, i don't mind paying the increased prices.
it offers a lot of different options and reminds me of the 2nd version. model-wise: the Chosen from DV are great models but the rest is sub par. The Helldrake is horrible, the Mutilators are ugly and Warp talons are... warped. Forgefiend is okay but only because the Iron Warriors Paint scheme is nice on it. Rule wise, the Noise marines are interessing, Slaneesh Bikers with Icon of Excess also and when led by a Sorcerer on bike you a nice performing unit/sink points... i don't think i'll investing much time into a Chaos Marine Army because...

2/On order:
-Betrayal!!!!! the best thing coming out of GW PLC since the Horus Rising novel... for years the HH community played with fan dex and campaign rules and at least we have something official with support and the models. A friend @BL (who was keeping his mouth shut) said there was a real investment from both BL and FW to provide new details that fit with BL published materials. The last two novels see the increase of mentions of FW pattern vehicules and Equipement. I know this is a niche within a niche but it's what will keep me hooked another decade...
-of course along the book, i had to order more models...some a couple of mk4 squads to start one of the 4 legions presented in the book. My Iron Hands are on hold until the 2nd book is released...

3/ Painting
-right now mostly the DV box set as time available, i hate the tactical squad but the rest of the models are good, special mention to the chosen champion which is the best model of the box along with the Librarian...

Cheers

playing with the Iron Hands a bit, i decided to drop the drop pods for now as the idea to convert 2 dreadclaw pods isn't something i'm planning doing anytime soon....

So far the army:
HQ
-Legion Praetor: Pride of the Legion
-Legion Forge Lord + servitors

Elite:
-Apothecary detachment: 1 Apothecary
-Legion Dreadnought Talon: 1 dread multi melta, heavy flamer
-Legion Contemptor Talon: 2 Contemptors (twin Kheres assault cannons, lascannons + power claw)
-Legion Rapier Battery: 3 Rapiers with quad laser

Troops:
-Legion Terminators: 10 Tartaros
-Legion Veterans: 10 models
-Legion Tactical: 20 models
-Legion Assault: 10 models with jump packs

Fast Attack:
-StormEagle full equip'd

The problem is that if i choose the Orbital Assault option, then everything needs to be deployed in Drop pods... so i would need 2 Dreadclaws and 2 standards as well as dropping one of the Rapier (they count for 5 models each, including th crew).
If i choose the Angel's Wrath option, then everything that get a rhino can ride in a Stormeagles, that means 1200 pts in Stormeagles only...
Footslogging with 2 vindicators and a Spartan might be the last option...

anyway...i'm musing a bit

Cheers

Oi,

planning on doind a tourney next month, i guess it is the best way to test rules and units...

Here's what i wish to bring on the table, it's standard 40k, 1750 points and it's been a while i haven't made a marine list using standard codex....

HQ:
Chapter Master
-Relic Blade
-Storm Shield
-Digital weapons

Command Squad:
-3 Veterans with meltagun
-1 Veterans with power fist and combi-bolter
-Apothecary
-Drop Pod
-Locator Beacon

Elite:

Terminator Squad:
-Heavy Flamer
-Chainfist

Terminator Squad
-Heavy Flamer
-Chainfist

Dreadnought
-multimelta
-heavy flamer
-Drop pod
-Locator beacon

Troops:

Tactical Squad:
-missile launcher
-flamer
-power weapon
-Drop pod
-locator beacon

Tactical Squad
-multimelta
-meltagun
-power weapon
-drop pod
-locator beacon

Fast Attack:

Assault Squad:
-flamer
-power fist
-jump packs

Stormtalon
-lascannons

41 marines, 4 drop pods, 2 vehicules,

pretty straight forward alpha strike gangnam style, but that's the space marines are about anyway...
i'm pretty sure it's not a winner, but i'm also sure i'm going to have a lot of fun
Anybody knows if i can combat squad once the dro pod arrives....

C&C welcome

Pretty sure you can combat squad after the drop pod arrives. It is in the combat squad rules on p. 51 of the C:SM.
If I forget to post a reference for you, please let me know!
If you are not going to post a reference for me, please explain why, maybe I can fix it!

thanks alot,

Also they it is written in the codex, a Chapter Master can only have a honour guard while the captain can only have a command squad, so does it mean that the Chapter Master cannot have a command squad?
