Tutorial: Airbrushing Basics

Post by ancientsociety »

Wrote a little article to go over some airbrushing basics I thought newbies should learn. Please let me know what you think. Enjoy!

Trading Guidelines:
1. Lower rating ships first - even if I am purchasing.
2. If you agree to buy something, you have 72hrs. in which to pay. If payment is not received in 72hrs., I will automatically post a Non-Payment/Backout thread.
3. Refs are left upon positive receipt of goods, NEVER beforehand!
4. I accept Paypal & USPS money orders and charge for shipping AT COST. I make no profit from it.
5. I trade NIB/new models at retail.

As someone who intends to use his never-before0used airbrush (just a cheap testors, mind you) in the near future, I really liked your article.
Informationally, it was GREAT. The only suggestion I'd make is to change the part where you quoted the guy about thinning paints. Using such a small font AND making it italic meant there were a few sections I had to read a couple times to pick up all the words (imperfect eyes).

Thanks for posting the link!

Lower rating? You ship first.

I think what this situation needs is some imagination.

I agree- great article!
Years ago I was airbrushing illustrations and it was really frustrating.
I was having clumping and all sorts of issues.
I was using windshield washer fluid as a thinner, and it didn't occur to me that could have been the cause.
At the time I didn't know about acrylic medium or flow extenders.
Hopefully this saves someone else the heartbreak of wrecking a piece.
I may even give the airbrush another try :)
