Tyranid Inspiration!

Post by CMSheats »

Hello all!

I am looking for some Tyranid Inspiration! I have a fair sized Nid arm that I am getting ready to paint (After I finish up my commissions), and I am looking for some ideas for the force. I have always loved the kinda florescent based armies with green/blue/orange ect.. but really I am just looking for ideas. So if you have any Nids that you painted, please post them and help me out!
Also, I am really wanting to do some conversion work in my army, but I am really at a loss of what to do.. Any ideas for cool conversions for any Nid unit?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

A buddy of mine has a Macfarlane dragon converted with some Trygon bits and professionally painted. It's AWESOME. He's used it as a harpy and a harridan (though, IMO, it's way too small to be a harridan LOL).

A couple things I was considering at one point for Tyranids was: Gentleman Nids. Greenstuffing Top-Hats and monocles for Tyrants, little bowler caps for the gaunts and whatnot; doing olde english 'classes.' Something else was 'rapid mutation' such as genetic experiment nids or mutated from toxic filth nids. Like a deathworld that has the equivalent of nuclear radiation and it causes crazy mutations in nids.

That does sounds awesome! You wouldn't happen to have any pics handy would you?

LOL! You could even give them little cups of tee.. I like this idea, but not for my Nids.

This is also a great idea. Have you tried any conversions like this on your Nids?

Thanks for the all the ideas so far!
