I recently traded for an army with a bunch of SM stuff I had been given and was getting rid of myself, so I made a trade an Btowner and boy did i get screwed. the main selling point for me was the CSM defiler, as this was on my priority list. I did have pictures but they were not close ups and when I get the package, I was rather disappointed. the model was assembled with superglue. the mould lines and sprue attaching points were still there, making the model not line up correctly. not to mention that the gun arms were falling off or completely broken. I also got roughly 50 vanilla marines, which were a mix of CSM, SM and some beastmen parts. most of them just needed stripped and they are good to go. as for about 15 of them, they are now in pieces and will be used for another project. why would you use WFB banners on 40k models? they dont even look right.

As for the rest of the lot I did however gain a bunch of plague marines that I have never used in play and these were painted very well. also got raptors, a dread, HQ's, and 2 minotaurs(that could be used as daemon princes or greater daemons) as well as some possessed.

In all fairness, I left him a good trade ref, it wasnt his fault that I didnt see the poor assembly job on the defiler. and even with all the bad comes the good. Im planning on retrading the items that I wont use and as for the defiler, I really think its better off in the trash than on a gaming table. I should be able to recoup enough to get either a NIB defiler or some of my other wants.

I just wanted to share my story. on a side note though, I got 2 items in a bag of bitz that puzzle me as to what they are. first item is a pewter bike, its got 1 wheel and it looks like a bull. where the nose is 2 gun barrels stick out and the handlebars are behind the bulls horns. second is a possible HQ with bolt pistol and sword, now here is where it gets odd, the guy has demon like ram horns and some sort of stuff growing off of him from the legs to 1 arm and most of the chest. I can link photos if anyone is curious enough.

No offense, but have you read the rules lately?
If he sent pictures that did not properly show the quality of his models, it *IS* his fault that you didn't see it. We REQUIRE traders to HONESTLY show/describe the condition of their models. If he didn't tell you it was crappily assembled, then it is his fault.
Not much you can do about it, now that you've left a positive ref, but it's a good lesson for later.

Start a new thread in the Discussion area with pics of those "unknown" models. I'd love to see 'em, and I'd bet SOMEONE here can help identify them.
