Possibility of a Malifaux subforum?
Currently 24 of the first 50 posts in Misc. Fantasy are Malifaux, and 35 of the 77 total posts.
Compare this to the 9 posts in the same period of time in Misc. GW fantasy and 14 in LOTR.
Anyone else think that Malifaux deserves a subforum?

Re: Possibility of a Malifaux subforum?
Honestly, thirty five posts just isn't enough to warrant it's own forum, IMO. That's an overall relatively low number of ads. Also, by splitting it off, it would leave the remaining original forum with a relatively equally low count.
Honestly, I'd like to just put all GW sci-fi in one forum and all GW fantasy in another, but that was a very unpopular option when I suggested it years ago.

Re: Possibility of a Malifaux subforum?
This request has come up a few times. What if, instead of giving it a sperarate sub-forum, we simply specify "Malifaux" in the title of the Misc Fantasy section? Leave it lumped in, but still give it a special place.
ie, change "Misc. Fantasy" to "Malifaux & Misc. Fantasy".
ie, change "Misc. Fantasy" to "Malifaux & Misc. Fantasy".
No, no, guard, turn, parry, dodge, spin and - then - thrust!MagickalMemories wrote:Please, nobody take this the wrong way when I say... Plarz, I love you.

That seems like a decent solution (and also makes it unambiguous about the occasional thought that Malufaux might be sci-fi).
Any thoughts on consolidating LOTR and misc. GW, considering neither gets a ton of posts?

Personally, I'd love it. Like I said, though, when we tried to before, we had a minor mutiny on our hands. LOL

I plan to keep the LoTR section separate for a while.. there is a new movie coming and there should be a corresponding upswing in the miniatures game. My totally off-the-cuff opinion, of course.

2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2.
If you don't have your Location listed in your User Control Panel, why not take a second and update it? It will let your trading partners know where you are from the beginning.

That makes a lot of sense, re: the movie. Though, what about having a "LOTR and misc. GW" category? The same hierarchical idea of "Malifaux and misc."porkuslime wrote:I plan to keep the LoTR section separate for a while.. there is a new movie coming and there should be a corresponding upswing in the miniatures game. Re: Possibility of a Malifaux subforum?
For the record, and to clear up any miscommunications;
If we decide to go through with the change of the titling on the Misc Fantasy forum, it won't be "Malifaux and misc." Malifaux will simply be added to the descriptive part of the titling (the smaller text).
Something like this (with the italicized being the addition):

Re: Possibility of a Malifaux subforum?
MM - I think that is the right way to go.
I would even go and say a good list of examples:
Miscellaneous Fantasy
Fantasy Gaming that doesn't fit into the other catagories. This includes Malifaux, Dystopian Wars, Dark Age, Mantic,
Confrontation, etc.
Same with the misc Futuristic area. Gives people an idea of what should go there.
For example, is Alt-WW2 stuff Historical? Sci-Fi? Always curious where to put Dust, Secrects of the Third Reich, AE-WW2. They don't deserve their own forum, but I have seen them listed in a few different spots. But you list one of those games in the descriptor of historical, and that clues in where those items should go, and where to look for them.

I am putting this up in the Proposed Changes area, with the tentative wording I would put on the Misc Fantasy forum.
