Oi!

Small update, i've been busy lately with work, like always actually but for the news:
The Iron Hanads are advancing slowly, got most of the 2000 pts assembled, i have a contemptor and dread to build as well as another drop pod.
on the painting side, 11 models started, as well as 2 vehicules, which left me with 30 models and 4 vehicules to paint...

The iron hands will be followed by the World Eaters, an old love from me as i played them during 2nd edition. Those ones will be Siege of Terra themed allowing me to include deamons and deamonic engine while keeping the old paint scheme for part of the army

As of tonight, i was playing with the Empire of The Blazing Sun...and some tiny fighters...
Image

and those things are tiny... next will be the air carrier

Cheers

Having finished the tiny flighers for the DW battle group, i can play with resin a little bit more..

Image

a side stuff while i'm working on the Iron Hands.

the plan for the next weeks/months or so:
-finish the first Iron Hands tactical squad
-finish the DW battle group box (11 boats)
-assenble and prime the Brass Scorpion
-store the khador models for later
-drop another large amount of cash in a FW order (waiting to see what the FW day will show us)

oi!

a quick update with me getting closer to a proper army list for the Iron Hands.
the thematic is great crusade era, after Nikea but before Istvaan

HQ:

Battle Captain;
Relic Blade
Storm Shield
Artificer Armour

will either jump with the veterans or one of tactical depending on the mission

Master of the Forge
Power Weapon

will join the 2 contemptors for repairs and the likes

Troops:

Tactical (10):
meltagun
missile launcher
power weapon
Drop pod

Tactical (10):
flamer
missile launcher
power weapon
Drop pod

Both squads go after objectives and secure them

Elite:

Veteran (9)
2 meltaguns
7 combi-meltas
power fist
drop pod

The melta Death star: they go after high value target and/or monstrous creature. the goal here is to target a unit essential to enemy's stategy and annihilate it in 1 turn

Contemptor:
lascannons
plasma blaster

see Contemptor Mortis bellow

Terminator (5):
cyclone missile launcher
chain fist

disrupt objective hold by enemy or teleport in support of assault units

Heavy Support:

3 Rapiers

3 lascannons with ordnance.... move and fire... cheap and resilient

Dreadnought
multimelta
Drop pod
locator beacon

Alpha pop-up tanker

Contemptor Mortis
2 twin-linked autocannons

bodyguards for the MotF
might replace the autocannons by Kheres assault cannons (Mortis pattern is BS 5, Kheres AC are Str 6, heavy 6, rending)

Total: 2000 pts

The army can be split into 3 main groups:

Objectif:
2 tacticals squads
Termies

Mobile fire-base:
3 rapiers
2 contemptors
Master of the Forge

Assault:
Veterans
Battle Captain
dreadnought

and the weapons break down:
11 melta weapons
3 missile launcher
4 lascannons
2 autocannons

i tried as much as possible to stay thematic and offering a versatile army. i lack a bit of troops choices but when following the AotE rules: veterans become troops as well as a the dreadnought. There is no pure assault troops neither as Vanilla SM do not excel at that, i might change the termies for Th/SS termies to cover that. i'll see later on when i start to assemble them..
Also it includes a lot of FW vehicules and rules, but i'm not playing tourneys anyway and the army is 90% FW already...;)

C&C welcome...

So FW day put out a lot of good things, up to the point my wallet is going to bleed seriously in the coming months... FW should offer a credit card at some point ;)

Anyway, here's the experimental rules for the Storm Eagle:
http://www.warseer.com/forums/attachmen ... 1333285179

Fast attack choice for most armies which is good, BA and GK do not have access to it neither, which is also good...
My army list is going to be revised in order to include at least one of it (Iron Hands uses Medusa gunships which are similar to the SE), probably two, and keeping the one slot of FA for the Lucius Drop pod...
