BFM Tyranids and new Tyranids - Any difference?

Post by rdbruski »

What's the difference in the 'nid gaunts and genestealers from the Battle for Macragge set and the new 4th edition 'nids?

I think it's just how they're assembled. The overall mold is the same, but obviously the wild level of customization now available isn't there with the BFM guys. You just stick arms on, rather than every body part being separate, plus the availability of upgrades. It's also my opinion (probably shared by many) that the connections to the sprue in the BFM box are WAY too thick and you end up with some serious rough spots to work out on most of the guys.

Well, as AA said, there are differences in assembly.

I don't know about thick connections, and I can't speak for the new gaunts, but I know that the new Stealers have a BUTTLOAD of extra pieces, so that you can assemble the multitude of upgrades (multiple heads, etc.)
It appears as if all ot the Nids are going to come out like that.

I think what this situation needs is some imagination.
