I'm playing my first 40k game in over a year on Sunday. My Tau vs Necrons. Gonna be good fun, I'm really looking forward to it. Its been so long, but I come back to the game with a healthier tactical mindset and the ability to enjoy the game again.

I'm thinking of a new color scheme for my tau too, not so much a new scheme but rather a few added colors. I think I'm going to try it out saturday.

I use nothing but metal colors and leather colors, with a few details picked out in red or blue (blinking lights on hammerheads etc). I'm thinking a dark crimson with some depth would compliment the dominating brass and bronze colors they already are. I take heavy acrylic artists metal colors, buffer on a layer of silver, then "tint" it with bronze for a very "brass" look. And then I use model pigments to add detail, like smoke or dirt or a plasma burn. Other things too... like a blue wash over silver burst cannon barrels. Or other metal colors for details. Striking, but will be even more so with the crimson I think.

Otherwise, Saturday will be like every other day, have a beer and then start screwing with the minds of my drunk friends. :)

BTW, sometimes Bartertown makes me feel like the only 22 year old bachelor who plays 40k. You people and your wives... if that isn't ironic, I must not know what ironic means. :-D
Formerly "bluegreenhello". The new name is the name of my future game store. Keep your eyes open but don't hold your breath. :-)

Focus. Be one with the brush. You will succeed if you believe that you can.

Heading off in a few hours for my first tournament in a long time, rather got tired of all the power gamers and stopped going to them,,,,rather made me tempted to create a space marine list using epic models with the proper sized bases just to annoy them,,,,,some seem to forget this is a game to have fun with, shakes me ol man cane and hops off my soapbox.

Hrmm... Scavenged something good out of a fiasco.
One of the 2 fighters & the priest had to cancel at the last minute, leaving up with 3 players (and a DM).
We had a "Game Day" instead.
Taught ourselves to play Dungeon Twister (GREAT FUN!).
Had 2 games of Dungeon Twister (1 @ 2 player to learn it, then 1 @ 4 player with expansion)
Had a Game of Munchkin (card game)
Played a game of Risk: Godstorm. MAN, I love that game.

Fair warning... If you're expecting to wrap up at midnight, do NOT start Risk: Godstorm at 10pm with 4 people. We didn't finish until 4am! LOL

Oh how I miss Munchkin...

I played my Nurgle Daemons against Blood Angels today... and won!!! That will happen when in a Dawn of War scenario, all of my reserves came down turn 2 after NONE of his came in... and I built 20 Gnoblars... good times.

Saturday and Sunday nights.. I worked. (Did get 15 Guardsmen and a Leman Russ painted though.. lol)

Friday night was my board/card game group.. learned to play the new version of Sid Meier's Civilization by FFg.. came darn close to winning too.. the combat in that game really stinks as far as how abstract it is..

(glad you liked DT Eric.. )
2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2.

If you don't have your Location listed in your User Control Panel, why not take a second and update it? It will let your trading partners know where you are from the beginning.

I use the Unofficial Porkuslime Trading Guidelines - if you have way less refs.. you ship first.

Have you tried the new web rules for Civ?

Much better than the original rules.

I hit a deer on my way to a 40k tourny on the weekend, trashed my truck. I actually considered going home and getting another vehicle and trying to get there in time.

Sorry I thought we were taking about the same game. How is The FFG Civ? I hadn't tried it.
