Need help IDing these spaceships

Post by warlordgarou »

Found these while going through some stuff in a long-forgotten bitz box. Can anyone ID them?

Moved from "Have questions" to here.
Lower rating? You ship first.

Yeah, Traveller's the first and only thing that comes to mind, but I've got nothing to back it up. Other than that, I'm completely stumped.
A few trade guidlines:
1) If your feedback is significantly lower, I expect you to ship first, even if I'm buying- Money carries greater risks than minis: I can't buy groceries with a box of Tac Marines!
2) Communication is key! I'm a reasonable guy (I try,) so if there's a problem, tell me!
3) I package things well, you should do the same. Protect minis from each other, too.
4) Leave feedback!

Is it on the "Whatever Legends" site? I forget entirely what the url or the name of that site was, or I'd link it. They catalog and archive pics of antique minis for this very purpose.

Also, they are pretty cool ships, if you figure it out I'd be interested in what scifi background they are from.

You got the site right, reeg, but the name wrong.
It's "Stuff of Legends."

That being said, Stuff of Legends is a great site for these kind of things, but is it me or does it look like it hasn't been updated in a while???

I believe these are from the old Star Frontiers range-the sci fi RPG system that predated Traveller by a bit (I think).

Gah, I saw that movie when I was little, and thought it was unbelievably stupid.

Found the answer on a Grenadier list. They are not part of the Star Frontiers line, they were just some starships that Grenadier did. Pity I don't have the rest of the box though.

SoLegends is kind of hit or miss. For some companies, they have a lot of info, and for others. . . . not so much. I use it before asking for an ID, but these did not turn up.
