The Gothic and the Eldritch book

Post by jul »

Hi there,

Sunday...cleaning day and my wife went berserk...like we're doing the spring cleaning in advance. anyway, i've found a copy of The Gothic and the Eldritch: The Collected Sketches of Jes Goodwin in a box i surely did not open in the last 5 years. Nice book overall and pretty good shape for a 10 years old book. so i was considering putting up for sale, trade in a near future. i checked on amazon and ebay and the lowest price i've found was 90$+shipping.....

so here's the question, do BL OOP books get so much value, this is close to 3 times what i paid for 10 year ago, just for the lowest price i've found...if it's the case, a got a couple of them, i won't mind putting up for sale...

Thanks for any advice

The simple answer - yes.

Especially if BL doesn't make print copies of what you want to sell anymore. Books like Xenology, the original LE Liber chaotica books, etc go for wacky crazy money.

If making some extra jingle is your plan, put them up on ebay (or post ads for them here after researching a price off of ebay/amazon).

Cheers!

the ones i got are the one cited above, as well as Insignum Astartes and The Inquisition. Funny, i just set up an ebay account for the kids toys, the books might end there, but i'd rather give a shot here...

Thanks for the answer.

Hey no problem! What are friends for?

Seriously, although I would love to own (or just look at) something like Xenology, I don't have the money to afford them.

I did manage to find non-le versions of the Horus Heresy/Collected visions book and the 4 Liber books, so I'm happy with those.

Hey Julien, crazy question, but I don't suppose you have a copy of Titan: God Machine graphic novel compilation by Dan Abnett?

Cheers!

Nope,

i've some episodes scattered through Inferno or Warhammer Monthly, but not the complete volume. it's one with Lone Wolf i never had.

For HH serie, i think the collected vision is still available either on GW or BL website, i managed to get it for 30$ by Amazon, they were discounting it as some point.

One i would love to get is Space Marine by Ian Watson, original would be fun, either i'll go for the reprint edition

Thanks for checking - I've got the 3 previous compilations (Titan I, Titan II:Vivaporous, Titan III: Cold Steel), but someone(?) told me that the God Machine mega compilation, besides have the 3 books I have, also had additional material (maybe even a book IV ?).

But apparently no one on Bartertown owns God Machine and can tell me conclusively one way or the other. The suspense of not knowing is killing me! Argh!

Oh well, back to working on RT marines..

Looking at list prices will not give you accurate sales numbers.
I can tell you that those books don't sell for that much, typically. Been there. Sold that.

What you should do is look at feebay COMPLETED auctions. That will show you prices the books actually sold for, # of bids, etc. It will also show you just how many times that guy has had "Item XYZ" listed for at $90 where it didn't sell.

i'm sure there is one added, it was common for BL to add material for Omnibus kind of publication. like in Collected Visions, you have the Kaban Project by McNeil which is not published anywhere else and is a prelude to Mechanicum Novel

Thanks for the RT stuff as well

Thanks Eric as well for the Clarification and the move, was sure where to post. I do realize that it is not because a book is listed 200$ on amazon that it will actually sell for that much...
