What do I do? Horrible trader ivan_the_raider

Post by SoldierofGod22 »

Hello, I am new here and am completing several trades and have already completed some major ones such as a 310 dollar one with minigamer1953, anyway one of my first trades is coming out bad ive email him repeatedly and he replied at first but now isnt anymore.. The deal was only about 40 dollars worth I was trading him a imperial guard blisters of a standard bearer, 6 ratlings, and 2 tanith ghosts and i think one other lil metal figure for his basilisk new in box. I shipped out my items and thats where it stands.....
His name on here was (it says his account is terminated) ivan_the_raider
his email is ivan_the_raider@hotmail.com, and his name is Steve Jones and his addy is 215 First Ave. St. Thomas, ON. N5R 4P6, Canada.
So Please help me out and let me know what I should do to possibly gte him in trouble and get my compensation, models back, or the basilisk.
Thank You! -Nick

and look for Insidious, he is a mod here and has a couple links in his sig that is for internet fraud.
Steve

Yeah, he claims he's reformed but clearly we see he's not.

This is why we have the reference systems we have, so that people can check out their trade partners before a trade takes place. Not to be rude, but a little bit of common sense goes a long way - his account was terminated. Why? PM a mod and find out. :?

Best of luck in getting the situation resolved....and you have 24 hours to follow the rules of posting a Bad trader report.

Ok yes it was one of my first trades and yea I was kinda dumb about it and didn't look through the bad trader report, lil too trusting I guess. Anyway I do not have the PMS but I did copy and paste every email, Am I doing it right? I guess if I get screwed out of this deal it isnt too horrible since that stuff wasnt crazy important or expensive but it still pisses me off. I dunno I hope it was a post office problem but judging by his history Im not banking on that. So over a month has gone by I don't think customs would take that long would it? could it? Thanks everyone =) -Nick

No, you're good insofar as proof goes. Interesting new tactic he's using, it seems. I'd go ahead and report him anyway if you have proof of mailing your side of the trade to him.

On the other hand, if you don't have that proof (which to Canada is a little harder since you can't use USPS delivery confirmation) your case may be a little harder to prove.

Hey guys,
Linrandir acutally you can track your package as it heads through the states, it costs like a buck fifty more and although it doesn't have it's whereabouts constandtly noted, you can log on to candapost.ca (or something like that) and have them email you (and him) when he signs for it (ALWAYS MAKE SURE SOMEONE SIGNS FOR YOUR STUFF). If someone signs for it they can't claim "sorry, didn't get it yet." Also, if you add in his email address to be notified when the parcel is signed for, he'll know that you know he signed for it, and will make him less likely to screw you.
Anyway, that's my two cents,
Cheers,
Andrew
I live in Canada, so, just a heads up on customs and shipping delays.

Hey all thanks for the tips im definatly gonna do the delivery confirmation thingy. Seems that another bartertown memeber taggered recieved a combination of my some of my models and a couple others in a box with no return address however my name was inside the box! way crazy! and the guy that got the package was ripped off by the same guy that i was in the past! hmmmm coincedence? I dunno but im happy to be getting compensated about equally for the ordeal! -Nick =)

How does this Steve Jones keep operating>? It seems I've been reading about him for months, but he still gets to rip people off. I think you shoudl have a note about him in the terms of use when you sign up for an account here,:)

He's just a mad abuser of the public trust.

Always get delivery confirmation unless you trust the person implicitly.
