I've recently watched a very nice set of painting tutorials and I plan to apply these new techniques to a Trollblood force I'm taking to War Machine Weekend in October of 2011. I'm not a fast painter and I really want this force to be the very best work I'm capable of thus I'm getting started on them now.

Which is probably just in time... :)

I'm working on entirely too much Warmachine/Hordes right now.

Though I'm sure the players of my Shadowrun game prefer WM/H than my working on new miniatures for new characters in the game. Some of them are still traumatized by Esmerelda, the force 15 Ant Queen they ran into. Literally.

Right now I have 2 Warhammer projects on the go.

I am building an Apocalypse 4,000 point Nurgle Daemon/CSM (mostly Daemon) force for 40K. Why 4,000? I am planning a 40K of 40K for my 40th b-day this coming May. 10 players, 5 a side. Should be fun!

I am also working on a 3,000 point Skrag list for my Fantasy Ogres. Why 3,000? That way I can have 12 gorgers... muah ha ha...

I watched the basic set of tutorials from miniature mentor. They are the first tutorials I've ever watched so I don't have anything to compare them to but they seemed VERY useful to me. Seeing someone do something is so much easier to understand than watching someone do it. The artist is a French speaker and the cinematographer speaks English. To me they make sense, but the odd combination annoyed my wife a bit. So be sure to watch the little samples before buying them.

I highly recommend them.

I'm currently trying to finish painting up a few Ork vehicles (3 trukks, BWagon & a BWagon-Trukk kitbash). Once I've got that done, I get to assemble a few thousand points of Dark Eldar.
I'm getting P.O.ed at myself. I LOVE assembling minis, but I've promised myself that I won't assemble ANY DE's until I have these Orks done... and, with the Holidays here, I'M NOT GETTING ANY DARNED TIME TO PAINT!

Add in my Admin stuff here, and the fact that I had a few sales I wanted to run...

You see that? That fleeting shadow?
That was my spare time flying by.

LOL

darksoul-
what are the bodies for your mega armor orks made from?
I would love to see a separate how to thread for those; they are amazing.
Also, I see some blue on that Kan- do you have a deathskulls army? I was thinking of going that route and I'd like to see more if you've got 'em.
Great stuff!!!

the are made from AT-43 Kolossus models...

http://cgi.ebay.com/AT-43-Red-Blok-Stri ... 1e6078fbd3

i bought them from the above source at 12.00 each box of 3.. they have them now for 7.00 a box.. i may pick up some more...

the Gobs are made from the front wheel faring from the nobs bikes..
the smoke stacks and engine are from the Def Dread
the arms are from the Black Reach Ork Warboss.. the gun arm is made with the weapon pod from the Kolossus and the front of the warboss Gun.. the other arm is made from the power claw arm... and some wire and a shoulder pad from the boys sprue...

I also used .5 mm card to make patches and 1mm micro beads for rivets..

Image

they probably cost as much as buying Mega Nobs, after bit ordering all the extra bits, but they are much more in line with what i think the Deathskulls would build...

The idea actually came from someone else here on bartertown, for the life of me i cant remember who.. i tried to trade for the conversions he did... but we couldn't come to a deal but he told me what he used for the bodies.. i just scrounged the rest of the ideas for them myself and came up with these... they look similar to what he did but i don't think he used as many bits..

if i do some more.. I'll do a step by step...

and yes I'm working on a Deathskulls army.. I've got all the models and then some.. but painting is slow on it... its one of those projects ill get done in time for the next codex release LOL... ill be working on my FW mega Dread next... i just need to pick up a couple more Kanz missile launchers as I'm replacing the mega bolters for missile launchers on this bad boy.. and finish the Rippa Klaw convresion to a big Giant Saw Blade...

I've got my MegaDred ready to go. It's assembled as far as I want to go with it before priming/painting. Once I paint it up, I'll get it thrown together.
Sadly, the time to do so has just eluded me.

nothing. Because I found that I can't see the minis anymore to paint them, I can't feel/hold them to assemble them.
That's why I'm selling off all the Deldar I just bought.
Heh, I was called a Grognard. ;-)

These are fantastic. Some of the best conversions I've seen this year. So much better than standard Mega Nobz. You should be proud of them.
