I should've been clearer.
I didn't really mean accents. Poor word choice.
I'm talking about black hair for helmetless models. If their hair is in a ponytail, perhaps white on the band holding it up. The amount of non-flesh & non-blue (or whatever color I choose) would be relatively minimal.

Definitely not thinking harlequins. Unless they absolutely rock, I won't even be playing *actual* harlequins (rumor has it that they're in the 'dex).

Honestly, I don't really care what color people typically associate with which Chaos God. Truth is that you can use any color for any of them.

In this case, it has nothing to do with Slaanesh and everything to do with me wanting a color that will look vibrant and really striking on the table.

According to fluff, the DE worked out a deal with Slaneesh to provide him/her with souls; and in return they would be left to pursue their selfish desires. As they do not have soul stones to protect them from Slaneesh as CWE do, this was a good deal for them.

Thats still $20-$30 for a raider (its that much for that single) and a bit small. I do a lot of SWM, and will continue long after the game dies off. (which is imminent)

I'm loving the new DE. I tried them a while back, as i've never liked the mutations on chaos, but wanted something more evil. Have since moved on to iron warriors and then Black legion (having a hard time figuring out nurgle- current idea is Skaven parts) because the DE rules were just SO limiting and weak. Yeah, you can win. But you are at a serious disadvantage as it stands.

also, try capturing objectives with DE warriors. Not impossible, if you can keep the enemy off them. Just really hard. I honestly think it would actually be entertaining if their style retained the difficulty of capturing objectives, it would be a nice change in playstyle and truly challenging. Just so long as they are scaled up for today's game, etc. Devastating fast moving lightly armored firepower with a razor edge in assaults that hate sticking around too long is what they've always been about... it would fit.

Old DE models saw a decline on trade value here, for a long time. I procured my entire 2000 point army for like $100. Warriors were trade fodder as they were so commonplace, yet useless... You could make a DE army almost entirely out of warriors for very cheap, but it really wouldn't be competitive IMO.

I still play 4th edition... going to have to convince my group otherwise so I can get DE. Incubi look really sick... They are not *just* done correctly, but are very COOL. I also wanna know if those models on Dakka are mandrakes or wyches. They look very mandrake to me, and i would really like them as mandrakes.

I've always thought that De were overdue since last year, maybe 2 years ago. Good to see them finally get here though.

That codex for $29 is a frigging joke, though.
I mean, it's 96 pages. The damned Space Marine codex is only a buck more, and it's got 144 pages. Forty eight more pages for a buck?

I've never made my stance on GW pricing a secret. I just don't complain about it often, because it won't make a difference. GW doesn't pay attention to what we say with our mouths. It pays attention to what we say with our wallets.

I will say that they seem kind of cheap compared to PP though.
$50 for 10 dudes (PP) compared to $35 for 10 (GW Vostroyans).
I still kind of dig PP stuff more right now, but their price points are just as bad as GWs.

That's a fair point, but consider the bigger picture- 10 guys in a PP game is a substantial part of your army (unless they're Steelheads or Risen or something) and you'll only need a couple 10 man squads, and a couple of big bruisers. In a GW game, 10 man squads, particularly IG squads ( ) are considered highly expendable, and you'll usually need to buy 5 or 6 for your army, not to mention support weapons and tanks.

That said, on a 1 to 1 basis, yes, GW models are cheaper, but on a game comparison, I find it to be hardly close.

Very true.

i find it unfair to both, GW & PP, to compare them for this very reason.

Whether one or the other is more expensive depends on your perspective.

For someone who's pricing out whole armies, the answer is going to be substantially different than someone pricing it out by model.

Of course, the same can be said for most, if not all, mini games. Look at Malifaux. I LOVE the game and their models. On a one to one basis, though, they might just be more expensive than both of the companies listed above.
