And now begins the jumping on of the DE bandwagon. It's coming. You all know it.

Honestly, I don't know that it's fair to refer to it as a bandwagon.

Myself, for example; I'll buy them, regardless, for the reasons I mentioned. Also, I've been fascinated with them since I started playing in late 3rd ed., but always steered clear of them because of the horrible models (I only like the vehicles) and antiquated codex. There are a LOT of people like that out there.

But it will be the newest thing to most people. Matter of perspective. New codex, new models, different from SM will equal: must have it!

Luckily I have gotten rid of my DE. I think all I have left is a Raider.

I have been trading for DE Jetbikes.. hoping and praying that they will be useful in the new version of DE.. They are the only model that looks appealing to me from the old sculpts..

Actually they have been pretty competitive as of late, if played correctly.

Guess I will have to break out the old DE box of shame.

I am looking forward to the new models. I have always liked the fluff look, and the feel of the DE, unfortunately they really do need a serious update.

Dark Eldar can still tear it up in the right hands. Vycem was at a tourney a few months ago which got taken by a DE player.

I can't imagine that they torched ALL the old molds; the two slave girls are still popular.

But even those are pretty bad. I always liked "evil elves", but the sculpts turned me right off. Too much work to make them into something that I would like. I'm just hoping that Jes Goodwin had something to do with the redesign...

It's been pretty common knowledge that Jes was given total control of the mini side of this project. He's done everything from initial concepts through to the finished sculpts. That's the (rumored) reason that it's taken so long for the DE to get re-released. GW was allowing Jes to make the call as to when he felt the sculpts were ready for production.

Here's to hoping that is true. I don't put much stock in 'net rumors, especially revolving around GW. They've been playing fast & loose with "leaks" this year. (See "leaked" BA codex.)

Normally I don't put much stock in rumors either. But when they come from Harry, Avian, Scryer in the Darkness, or a few others on Warseer, they are pretty much gold. Those guys are right like 90% of the time.
