Post by carmachu »

Not that I have anything to post, but I dont see any reason or warning as why that forum is locked up....

Good day,

We are currently overhauling the bad trader forum.

There was a poll located here: viewtopic.php?f=82&t=113908 that has some explanations as to what we are doing.

We only anticipate the forum being down for a few days.

Thank you for your patients as we try to make Bartertown a better place.

If you don't have your Location listed in your User Control Panel, why not take a second and update it? It will let your trading partners know where you are from the beginning.

Lower Rating ships/pays first.

Although the FORUM is locked, the SUBforums are not.
So, you can't post in the forum, but you can post in the subforums.

Right now, we're in the middle of the (tedious) task of moving ALL of the posts from the forum to the appropriate subforum & renaming them.
The lock was a temporary measure. I was in a hurry.
Later, the lock will be removed, but posting abilities will be turned off (again, only for the actual main forum).

Also, the "approval required" for BTR's has already been enabled.

Hope that clarifies a little more.

I'm surprised you didn't just move them all to Unresolved or Open.

Then you can just have a single guidance sticky letting people know how the BTR forum works.

We're in the middle of doing that now.
The way the software works, we can (a) move ALL posts into another [ONE other] forum or (b) move them individually to where we want them to go.

Exactly.

Move them ALL to unresolved, and pick out the Resolved over time, going backward.

While it would be a faster resolution, it would end up putting resolved BTR's in the unresolved forum, and we just don't want them there. We want them segregated from the get-go.

I do appreciate the input, though.

Segregated?

Or seprated?[/quote]

Yes.
segregate
- separate or isolate (one thing) from another and place in a group apart from others; "the sun segregates the carbon"; "large mining claims are segregated into smaller claims"
separate
-Divide into components or constituents; "Separate the wheat from the chaff"
-classify: arrange or order by classes or categories; "How would you classify these pottery shards--are they prehistoric?"
make a division or separation
Either works for me. : )
