Actually Pete, it is not. That was in response to someone's earlier condescending post that said that they were the only one in the thread with any business experience. I was only pointing out to them that they were not the only person here with that experience. As such, it was not directed at you and you should not have been offended. I apologize if you were.

Can you point out who made the emboldened comment, please?
The closest I can find is where GMM said, "As Joe Shmoe hobbyists most of us dont know a lick about how business runs, so we look at the surface and make assumptions based on what little we know (including me)."

Heck my only experience with actual busness is some buisness classes at college so I only can look at a balance report and see how a comapny is doing on paper and in my shop , so hopefully it aint me!

I took his word for it and didn't read back into the thread.Looking at it closer I can't find it.

it was the condescending post MM quoted where the person put us all down as knowing nada about business and tacked on an afterthought of "including me" to try to soften the blow to us. Believe it or not, many of us (as a few of you have pointed out) do have actual experience in business. Whether this be college classes or owning and/or running actual businesses (or BOTH) a lot of us DO have actual experience with business.
To discount our views because they assume that we are all just ignorant and they have all the answers was a bit much imho. I was not trying to cause a ruckus, just trying to point out that they were the the only one with a valid opinion to add to the conversation.

I think you read way more into his words than were there. He's just not "that kind" of guy.

I had classes in economics and the effects of economics and business and how they affect business as well as running a business. that is what I base my claims on the issue on and even though I feel correct, I am aware that I may well be wrong. I know others disagree with me on this issue and accept that. It just FELT that we were being put down. Again, I apologize if I jumped the gun. If you like, just delete it as it is likely to cause further issues when my "fan club" sees it.

This is the internet. It's hard to judge inflection and tone. Mistakes happen. it's nothing to worry about.
GMM's a good guy. You made a mistake. You admitted it. He's certainly not going to lord it over you.
Most people on tho board are pretty straight-froward guys. We're all allowed to screw up. We aren't judged by how we screw up. We're judged on how we fix it.
I'd say you did fine.

Back on topic:

It is not saying that GW is sleeping on cash filled pillows, it is saying that they started down the road of overpricing to up the profits. Early on for the first few "price hikes", it is not so bad and may actually bring some extra profits. However, that is a slippery slope and when you look at the early profit rise and think (as GW did) it is a good idea and continue the hikes, you reach the point of diminishing returns and pass it. This is what has happened with GW.

I agree with this point quite strongly.

is ok, Occasionally, I play devil's advocate myself. I usually get flamed for page after page when I do though. Rather then follow other's suit, I just admit when I am wrong and we can live in peace.
