Identify this GW bit?

Post by MEversbergII »

I got a plastic Valk here on the cheap for use with Fast and Dirty. However, I have one modification I'm making to it -- a second cannon.

I plan for it to have two of whatever cannon it usually has, one on each side of the cockpit. But, I don't know what these bitz are called as I've been away from WH40k for years.

The one on the right side of the cockpit -- what is that? Where can I get a second one? I figure I could dig one up here if I knew what it was called, but I do not.

It looks like an imperial guard multi laser to me. They come in a few kits, because of the wires below it, I believe it is off a sentinel.

Ah good call, I didn't notice it was different from this one:

Is this one unique to the Valk?

Top picture is definitely an IG multilaser, appears to be one from a chimera or older sentinel.
Personally, I'd swear that last shot is a lascannon, but haven't built one of the new Valk kits so can't say what it's supposed to be.

The one on the real Valk is a Lascannon that is Unique to the Valk. The first one is from a Sentinal and is a multilaser. There is usually a Lascannon bit on the new Sentinels now as well.

Thanks. Is the weapon a regular las cannon that has something fitted over it, or is that console and cannon one piece? Just looking to put another one on the other side.

Hey there, friend- This is a picture of the actual GW Multilaser and Lascannon bits for reference. the little cowl thing that sits over it comes separately and I don't have a pic of that. The multilaser on your Valk is from a sentinel kit and has been trimmed/attached under the cowling by some indeterminate means. Here's the pics of the "real" valk bits for reference.

I got the kit in today and I'm glad they come in two pieces. When I'm able to make a new thread, I think I'm going to put up an ask for that bit.

Guys, when you buy the Valk Kit, it comes with BOTH that IG multilaser (it is made for the valk) and the lascannon. You can use either in that space on the model. It will also come with two missiles and two rocket pods. That specific Multi laser comes from the valk set.
