HMGS-MS Presents Nashcon 2010!

Post by BTWilliams »

Fellow Bartertowners! It’s time, once again, for HMGS-Mid South’s premier gaming convention…..NASHCON!

This year’s show is May 28 –30 at the Marriott Hotel & Convention Center in beautiful Franklin, Tennessee. Admission to the show is just $20.00 for the whole weekend ($25.00 for non-HMGS members) and provides you access to open gaming sessions, a dealer’s area and the flea market on Sunday.

There will be are two gaming sessions on Friday, three on Saturday and one on Sunday. Each four hour gaming sessions will provide a wide variety of gaming choices. So far, we have games scheduled for WWII armor depicting the Battle of Stalingrad on a 16 ft. table, a gorgeous 40mm French and Indian War raid, Pirate ships fighting for treasure amongst a chain of tropical islands, Napoleonic grand warfare in 54mm, BattleMechs blazing away with lasers and PPC’s, WWI Fighter combat using Wings of War and lots, lots more!

Aside from the regular open gaming, there are several tournaments planned for different rules systems including Flames of War, Fields of Glory and DBA. And, for the first time at Nashcon, a Rogue Trader Tournament to include sessions for Warhammer, Warhammer 40K and Lord of the Rings. (Note - An additional fee of $5.00 per session will apply for the Rogue Trader Tournament)

The dealer’s area, open each day until 6:00pm, will tempt you with all manner of things! Things you surely can’t live without. Those dealers planning to attend, so far, include Splintered Light Miniatures, Rebel Mini’s, Wargames, All the King’s Men and Time Portal Hobbies. We’ll have a veritable treasure trove of folks who will provide you the opportunity to increase your gaming paraphernalia and your status as a Super Gamer!

Also, this year Nashcon has joined forces with TillerCon and will be sharing space with this Computer Gaming show. Separate entry fees apply for TillerCon but it’s free just to watch the guys frag each other.

We’d love for you to come on down and attend this year’s show. Not only will there be loads of gaming and lots of dealers to spend your money with but the camaraderie you’ll share with fellow gamers and the friendships you’ll build will last a lifetime! If you do plan to attend, be sure to call the Marriott at 615–261-6100 and mention “Nashcon” for the special room rate of $109 per night which includes two, $15 breakfast buffets per night’s stay. What a deal!

For further information, and to watch for updates, visit the new HMGS-Mid South Website at the web address below:

Or if you want to, you can PM me here on Bartertown. I’m a founding member of HMGS-MS and currently on the Board of Directors. I’m also the Gaming Schedule Coordinator for Nashcon 2010.

Hope to see you there!

What does the 40K event look like?

Is it a 2 day tourney, or...?
(Can't get to your site from work)

What about prize support?

Lower rating? You ship first.

Give me a sense of humor Lord. Give me the grace to see a joke.

I think what this situation needs is some imagination.

From what I gather, they are doing the WHFB on Friday, the WH40K on Saturday and the LotR on Sunday. I'm just handling the open gaming but I can get specifics on the Rogue Trader sessions from the guy in charge and post them for those interested. Or, folks can PM me with an e-mail address and I'll get them the info in a Word document. I do know there will be prizes.

Is it free access to the dealer area like last year, and only paying if you plan to play games?
