Have you read the site rules? viewtopic.php?f=44&t=45470 If not do so.

I vaguely remember one of the owners of new wave was associated with CMON. Not sure if he still does.

As I understand it, he is the same guy that created CMON and is also the guy behind Dark Age...

He PMed me an inquiry a while back.
Seems he wanted to know if we had any interest in selling Bartertown.
Of course, I forwarded his message to Adam, who politely declined.

Wow! talk about a blast from the past!
I totally forgot about New Wave.
I never ordered from them because of their rep.
But their site was pretty cool, because of all of the non-GW figs that they had images of.

Funny. My wife bought my first army transport from them and it arrived in time for my birthday.
I ordered some L5R minis back before it was big news that they sucked. Got most of them, then forgot about the rest till they did show up months later the second batch.
But by then I had written them off. I got lucky.

True that.
I was mainly commenting on the quantity of images from obscure manufacturers that were not available on the net at that time.

Huh....I used to order stuff from New Wave all the time at the tail end of the 90s when the online retail market was pretty raw. Mostly CCG stuff, Star Wars, L5R and the like. Never had a problem. Cant remember why I stopped using them. Blast from the past.

Re: Does anyone remember
They weren't that bad a shop until they started dealing in Rackham minis and then they got in over their heads and made some really bad decisions. They'd take pre-orders or back orders on pretty much anything even if they had no clue when they would actually get stock. Of course, they wanted you to fork over the money up front when they didn't have any stock. People, understandably, got royally ticked off when they gave New Wave several hundred dollars for Confrontation minis and several months later had MAYBE a handful of the blisters they ordered actually arrive. Then they'd blame Rackham for not keeping up with demand when it was their own fault for trying to sell things they had no idea when, or even IF, they'd be getting in stock. This was when Rackham was still a tiny business and they just couldn't handle the sudden spike in demand coming from America.
