GW MODELS

Post by juggernought »

last night i was putting together a new vindicator tank. As i was putting the tracks on. i started thinking, man i hate putting these tracks on. And out of all the GW tanks/figs i have put together over the years. which ones are the worst?

i mean:
* the seams ever line up as they should
* the instructions are horrible
* is my knife just getting dull, or are those spurs a lot harder to cut?

So, what do you guys think, which GW fig is the biggest pain to put together?

the freakin tracks on a leman russ
oop eldar warwalkers were a real pain to keep together,

The tracks on the russ are the worst tracks I have tried.
For tank itself, I have to say the old land speeder that came with the earlier starter set.
For overall model, I gotta say the Krootox.

I just assembled a Thunderfire Cannon and hated it. Nothing fit together, so I ended up filing every piece of it to make it barely fit, and then going nuts on the green stuff. I then went back and drilled and pinned parts of it because it was so fragile. GRRRR!

The Mk1 Rhino. No tracks....but nothing fit right. Always having gaps where the sides fit onto the hull. Still have nightmares about putting them together. Vast improvement for the current one.
Lower rating? I ask that you ship first. Also, if I offer a stupidly good deal and you try to negotiate even lower...don't call it bad communication that you didn't get a reply. I deleted the message.

3rd edition devastators. The ones with plastic multi-pose bodies, and metal arms, weapons, and backpacks. Darn things never liked to line up right.

I prefer the metal Dreads. A couple of pins here & there and they're as solid as they come.

The Rogue Trader dreads were a pain as well.

Metal Venerable dread is the worst thing *I* ever assembled.

The metal Venerable Dread model is quite possibly the ugliest model GW ever produced IMHO. I'll never own one. The new plastic one is only marginally better. I just think the Mk IV look is stupid.

Oh, God.
Wow.
I couldn't disagree more.
I think it's one of the best Dreads I've ever seen... even from Forgeworld.
We ARE referring to the same model. right?
This one:

I like it FAR more than the new plastic... the look, that is. I prefer plastic over metal, otherwise.

I like the new dreads. For example the one MM showed (and the new forgeworld ones too). They actually have a "head" on them. I like that far better then the plain flat coffin fronts.
I also much prefer working with plastic models too.

Worst model to assemble = Dwarf Gyrocopter. Seriously. You have to glue on two rotor blades with a contact point about a sixteenth of an inch by an eighth of an inch. Then it falls apart every time you use it.
