All I'm saying is that if the "leaked" codex is any representation of what the finished one will look like, then BA are going to be way overpowered. You got assault squads as troops that can take two meltaguns. A plethora of transport options. Combat-tastic special characters, Mephiston is still the ultimate combat monster. And they can combat squad???

Is everything pointed out in it? I didn't see it in my glancing.

I can make a better decision of "over powered" with points to use as a guide. If they're tough but expensive, that'll go a long way towards balancing the list.

Yeah, it's got the points values in it. Assault squads aren't as cheap as a regular SM assault squad, but aren't that much more expensive; and they can get better equipment such as the 2 meltas I mentioned plus the SGT can take a infernus pistol (melta pistol). Assault squad can drop their jump packs in lieu of taking a rhino(with overcharged engines!) or pod. They should cost more in my opinion.

Space Wolves lost the access to do several things that Regular Space Marines have access to. I wouldn't be surprised if Blood angels lose access to some or most of these as well.
Brand New things that SW cannot access:
Chapter Tactics.
Combat squads.
Camo Cloaks.
Landspeeder Storm.
Scout Bike Squadron.
Attackbike Squadron.
Thunderfire Cannon.
Teleporting.
Bloodclaws, Jump Pack troops, and Bikers are WS 3 BS 3, but Scouts (elites) are WS 4 BS 4 and cost more.

Just to name a few, now granted, they gain access to stuff no other chapter gets.
For everything the Blood Angels get, they'll either pay extra points for it or lose access to something else.

If the Flyer with Assault Ramps That I read about is real, I just hope every other chapter is allowed to take at least 1 like when the first realased the LR Crusader.

Hate to say it but the rumormongers over on Dakka claim that the leaked PDF is a hoax/fan project.. so don't be thinking this is gospel.

Dakkar... You sure about the SW teleporting thing?
I have the codex at home, so I can check it out myself, but I was under the impression that their desire NOT to teleport had been removed in this codex.

Eric.. as I happen to have the codex in front of me, under SW Armour, Terminator Armor, pg 61..

NB: Through the Terminators of other Space Marine Chapters often teleport straight into battle, Space Wolves have a deep mistrust of such arcane tactics and perfer to fight with their feet on solid ground, as Russ intended

That is why their Terminator Armor is so much cheaper than in the Base SM Codex.

As for the whole assault squads are that much better just remember that they could have rage and so can't shoot the 3 metas (melta pistol on the sarge).

True but then it's not cheaper then the ones out of codex space marines.


Each codex is getting their own 'feel' now by having certain things cheap while others expensive... Sw got really cheap grey hunters and blood claws(for what they are worth) but have to pay a bunch more points for th storm sheild terminators. BA gets cheap jump pack guys but to run them more efficiently u need that special character or this special character.

You have to have a HQ slot filled anyways, so why not take Astorath? As for the BA Assault squad; for 20 points more, you're getting a scoring assault squad that can take up to three meltas (or flamers), and has a fast transport to get them across the board. I could easily fit Astorath, 5 Assault Squads, and 2 Furisos in drop pods into a 1500 list.
