loading time for this site (slow)

I'm in with the "INBOX is super slow crowd but the rest of the site is fine." I am running Chrome.

A quick work around that I am using involves the "Open in New Tab" option for the INBOX. While it does take a while to load, the option allows me to browse the rest of your fine wares.

This site has always always been very slow for me. Over two computers, several versions of firefox, safari on my phone as well.

It's actually a ritual of mine to go make a drink while my PMs load. Thats always the slowest.

But I am used to it.

Long load times or outright non-loads for me at random. Problem is much more noticeable with PM's. I wonder with the higher PM count available if it's taxing the server more?

This problem is not new. It normally happens in the late night hours (when some of us work). For some reason that problem seems to have stretched into the daytime as well. So add me to the list of people experiencing it. Updated Firefox.

Under normal circumstances, I NEVER had this problem in the past, unless it was a site wide issue.
I can't speak for GMM's issue, but I don't think it ever has to do with when you log in, as I am on the site at random times throughout the day AND night without issue (typically).

Same here. This site is very slow. Only this site. im a member of several gaming sites. Its only Btown where I have slow loading times to get PMs, etc.
Not complaining, just saying.....

Last time I talked to Adam he mentioned something about re-indexing the site (or something like that) which was supposed to speed things up. I'll give him a call tomorrow morning and let him know that he must've done that on Opposite Day.

Dunno what you tweaked Adam but the PM system is running great today. Not a single timeout. :bigthumbsup:

Still very slow for me (I'm using Chrome).

PM's are no worse than forums, but it's all slow, and when I try and post a message or PM, it often times out and takes several attempts. At it's worst the site is unuseable and I come back a few hours later - mostly it just takes 5 mins to post things, and 30 seconds to page load - all of this only occuring about 50% of the time tho.

Edit: It's only been like this a few weeks - since xmas maybe?
