Actually we had 14" of snow and there's still some around. We aren't equipped for that kind of snowfall up here. There are some people that just got power back last week. I doubt this has anything to do with Wesley as he lives in a part of town that gets cleaned up pretty quickly.

I've already offered to help contact him for the OP. I do not know him but it's a very small scene up here so there's a good chance someone in our group does.

Thank you..

Also.. to the OP.. I agree. It is NOT a premature report and I would be very concerned if I was in your shoes.

Wesley has still made no attempt to contact me. For those of you watching the calendar it has been 16 days since my half of the deal was delivered to his door.

For those of you actually willing to help, I thank you. At this point I am so bewildered and frustrated with peoples attitudes towards honest traders and there willingness to make excuses for thieves, slackers and deadbeats, that I won't be trading on here again. I've suggested to a few friends that they avoid this forum like the plague as well.

I'm sorry to hear this.
It is unfortunate that you have gotten off to a rocky start here.
Overall this is a great place to trade. I have had only two bad trades over the last 13-14 years or so, and while I may be lucky, the caliber of the traders here is that good IMHO.
I think that you are encountering a bit of established trader vs new trader bias, and while discouraging, should not deter you from seeking a remedy for your trading issues.
Deadmilkman should know better, and as an established trader should be checking in frequently to stay on top of the trade even through the holidays.
We all have everyday things to deal with, but when you enter into a business transaction, you need to follow through.
I hope you have a positive resolution to this trade!

I'm sorry but, in this post, you seem a little hypersensitive.

What I've seen in this thread is a large number of people, including staff, tell you that you've done the right thing by posting. I see a few trying to settle your concerns a little by letting you know that, in their experience (which is far more than yours at this point), the likelyhood of you getting ripped off is minimal, at best (Such experienced traders DO make mistakes, but they do NOT tend to start scamming.). I saw ONE person "criticize" how soon you left the BTR.

What was it you were expecting from this? Did you want everyone to chime in with "Yeah! Deadmilkman sucks. Tar & feather him!"??? You got a lot of help and one guy saying you jumped the gun.

If you still feel this way after it's resolved, just let me know. I will be happy to take care of removing your ID for you, if that's what you want.

Eric

P.S. No sarcasm should be read in the above post (for once in my life). I meant everything as a simple, direct statement or questions.

Deadmilkman still has not logged on, nor responded to an emails or PMs.

Does anyone know him in real life? Does anyone have an alternate means of contacting him?

ANY assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated (and karmically rewarded [yes, that is the adverb form of karma]).

I've talked to most of the people that go the LGS here and no one seems to know him. Short of going to the address listed here, I'm not sure what else to try.

I've contacted HeavyGear about a possible resolution. I'm not going to attempt any explanation here, as the simple fact is I screwed up, and I screwed a great trader for no reason. I do however want to make this as right as I can.

Hopefully we can come to some kind of agreement.

Deadmilkman AKA Wesley Wright

Post by Heavygear »

WARNING this guy is back. I'm guessing trying to trade or sell some new stuff and ripp someone else off, becuase now he's trying to pay me less than the models I sent him were worth after a year and a half. I would recommmned not trading with him. If you have any information as to where this guy lives please let me know via Bartertown. I plan on doing everything I can to see this guy prosecuted for mail fraud.

He tells me he's trying to make good on this.

If you have a problem with his offer, tell him as much. At this point, to make good on his debt, a fair market value in cash is not a bad gesture on his part.

I don't know the specifics of the deal at this point but, if you want it resolved, you're better off taking part in a dialogue with the man that you are telling him to "F" off, then coming on here and speculating on his intentions in a potentially libelous manner.

Also, I've merged your existing BTR with the message you posted above. To leave them separate would constitute a second BTR. That is a rules violation.
Please, keep all communications regarding this BTR in THIS thread, rather than starting new ones.

May I ask you to post what value you place on the items you sent and how much he offered?

HeavyGear has stopped responding to my PM's, so I really don't know what else to do at this point. I've tried to be as reasonable as I can, understanding that this has been been a long time to come back and try to work things out. Here is the log of PM's that we have sent, I did verify that HeavyGear has read my last three messages, but hasn't responded. The email address that was on the Privateer Press messages isn't a PayPal account, so I can't be sure that is the correct address.

HeavyGear, if you are reading this, the offer is still open.

Shawn,

First off, I want to apologize. I know it doesn't mean much to you at this point, but there it is. I'm not going to attempt any kind of deflection, simple fact is I *edit* up, I screwed you, and I want to make it right.

I'm not sure I can identify which minis you originally sent me, as I have since packed up all my SM stuff in the same box. I do still have the Alexia unit you were originally interested in.

I'd be happy to send you that Alexia unit, along with more minis in an effort to make up for my treatment of you. Alternatively, I'm willing to send you $75 via paypal, which is about the current value of the miniatures in question.

Again, I apologize, I know its been a really long time. I'll understand if you don't feel that I can make this right.

You are thief and a lying piece of *edit*. The minis I sent you were worth more than $75.00. You can send $100.00 to my paypal account or send me a check. When I find out where you are I am going to report you for mail fraud and hope you end up explaining it to the law. In leu of that I'll have my brother who lives in NC find you and beat the money.

I understand that you are upset, but don't think that threats of physical violence are going to get you anywhere.

My offer is based on the current retail value of the miniatures that you were expecting from me (Alexia, 20 Risen, 3 Thralls). It is more than the they are worth due to them being used. In terms of straight cash, I won't go any higher than $75. If you'll send me your email, I'd be happy to get that to you via PayPal before the end of the day.

If you change your mind, and do wish to come to an agreement, I'd be happy to accommodate you as I've discussed. Until then, I trust you will do what you feel is necessary. You certainly have every right to be upset and angry.

Again, I am sincerely sorry for my actions, and do wish to make this as right as I can. Though I have no immediate plans to do so, I don't feel right about returning to trading with this unresolved.

Shawn, I'm going to make one last attempt to resolve this with you. That is what I would prefer. You stated earlier that you felt that the miniatures that you sent me were more valuable than $75. If you can show me via current prices that is the case, then I may be able to raise my offer. Based on my research, however, that is not the case.

Here's what you sent me:
1@ AOBR tactical squad
1@ BFM tactical squad
1@ Aobr Dread
1@ direct order techmarine with servo harness
Checking ebay:
--AOBR Tac Squad - can be bought for $15 or less all day long
--BFM Tac Squad - couldn't find on ebay, so I will use the $15 from above
--AOBR Dread - can be bought for $20 or less all day long
--SM Techmarine: $20
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catal ... rod1140234
Which totals $70.

In any case, I am ready to send you the $75 via paypal, I just need you to confirm which email address that should go to and that this will resolve this issue.

Again, I'm sorry for all the trouble.

Wes
