the_trader... may be a Bad Trader

Post by TrooperPX »

On November 12th, I entered into a transaction with the_trader.

See thread:
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=75131&p=142288#p142288

I have yet to receive these items. And yes, unfortunatly I sent $$ first. Yea, I know now... my "shopping eyes" just beat me to good sense. He just said all the right things, and as a new trader myself, someone trusted me once. Feeling confident, I concluded a second transaction. (I can hear some of you screaming "NOOOOOOOOO!!") But yes I did.

If it pans out, I will retract the posts of my concern. I really hope to receive the items I have paid for. Silly sucker. :-P

But if not, I will pursue all possible legal recourses.

Sight-unseen I'm offering $10 per vehicle, plus shipping. I'd be interested in the Basis, Chimeras and Lemans. Sound good, or shall we haggle?

I think we were dupped man... I too bought 4 Russes and 3 Basilisks from him in the same time line and paid half up front, on the 12th of November. Crap.

He has sent conflicting stories about when he shipped them. I have initiated a PayPal complaint.

I'll paste my thread ASAP. off to Paypal now...

OK, then what's your timeline for resolution?

It takes, at most, a day to pack stuff for shipping and a day to drive it to the Post Office and mail.

So I'd expect to see tracking numbers by the weekend.

Well, you have told me you have shipped twice already, giving you til the weekend to provide tracking numbers seems generous, but I will wait as well. I would like an honest assessment of where my stuff is. And how did you sell two sets of three Basilisks when you only listed having three? How about the Russes? How many do you have in total?

Still seems like stalling until its to late to try and recover funds from Paypal.

Please, prove us wrong.

Arundel..

YOU need to open a BTR or Backout trade.. tacking your issues with the_trader onto established reports is not allowed. Falls into hearsay. Unless you can post a string of PMs or communication with the_trader, you have no way of proving your allegation.

2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2.

If you don't have your Location listed in your User Control Panel, why not take a second and update it? It will let your trading partners know where you are from the beginning.

I use the Unofficial Porkuslime Trading Guidelines - if you have way less refs.. you ship first.

I'm going to cross post this to two threads because it affects you both - but it would seem that he's 'sold' two of you the same tanks...

viewtopic.php?f=34&t=76407
viewtopic.php?f=34&t=76493

Some different stuff too, but I'm sure he doesn't have enough tanks for both of you (and curiously a lot of the same numbers come up - 3 Basilisks, 1 BaneBlade, etc).

I am indeed from the UK.

Firstly, over here it's not mail fraud, and not something the police are going to be interested in. They will take a report, but no more.

If anyone has a full name and address, I *might* be able to to trace it, but not if he's ex-directory (as half the population is), and even if not, it will be listed in his parents names if he is a minor - depends if there are multiple people with that surname in that area (assuming the address isn't fake).

If anyone has the info then PM it to me, and I'll see what I can come up with. If you want to do it yourselves, then http://www.192.com will give you access to our Directory Listing service and the same info as I ccan get hold of. In fact it's more useful than our telephone service...
