BTR: Jonathan Henry/ Crystal Henry - Unresolved

If I were any of you, I would go to http://www.bbb.org and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. For large sums of money like that they're more likely to take the complaint seriously. Another idea, although I don't know exactly how to do this, would be to go to your local PO and file a complaint there about mail fraud. I've heard of people doing that, but I don't know how it's done.

Okay, folks.
I just got off of the phoine with Crystal.

I am willing to give her the benefit of the doubt here. I am willing to assume for the time being that we have assumed too much.
For now.

Crystal, when you read this, I hope you understand. With so much fraud on the internet, we have to be wary. So many things adding up...

I called & Crystal answered. I told her my name and that I was calling on behalf of Bartertown and asked if she was familiar with the site...
I figure, if she WASN'T, then my hunch was correct about Johnathan.

However, she said she is familiar with it. My hunch was incorrect.

I told her that I was calling on behalf of some traders who were scared that they weren't going to get their stuff.

She said that "Fred Abner" (I'm not familiar with Fred by name, perhaps someone knows his Trade Name?) got his stuff and was supposed to be going onto BTown and telling everyone that theirs was coming. She reiterated the story we heard about being in the Hospital in Columbia.

Crystal was very pleasant and showed no signs of offense that I was calling her. I was impressed by that. What talking we did was conversational and not stilted, as you'd expect from one who was trying to pull your leg and make things up as they went along.

Now, I know that some scammers are smooth enough to do that... but I'm thinking (hoping) not this time.

I told her about this thread which, it sounded like, she was unaware of.

I invited here here to speak her peace and get things out in the open.
Hopefully, she will and this will all get sorted out.

I was glad to call Crystal.
I know that, around here, people in certain areas or states can get lumped in together and ALL assumed to be bad traders (can anyone say, "I'm not trading with anyone from Wisconsin?") and I had my own interests in mind as much as your own, as she is not TOO far from me (perhaps a long drive away).

Crystal, hopefully, you can get this all settled and resume trading here.

First off MagickalMemories I want to thank you for following up on this and you saving us on a long distance phone calls. Even though you had nothing at stake here you kept on this, that says alot about you (your a great person), and your from MO so why would we not trade with someone there.!

Crystal: I am sorry if we have jumped to any conclusions, but when someone quits e-mailing I think we all get worried. I hope you are doing well, or better? I hope we can complete our deal and end things on a good note. Please contact me and let me know when our items are avaliable. I can be flexable as long as I have an Idea as to what is going on. Again sorry if we were wrong. I can eat crow when I am wrong so here is to hoping you bake some good humble pie.

I will keep everyone else here up to date as to what happnes.

ok...here's an update.

i'm the guy who posted about perhaps there was some double selling of world war two stuff....i dropped a bunch of cash around the end of june/fourth of july for russians and germans and tanks and trucks etc etc etc that appeared on bartertown and checked jim denbergers references for crystal. Jim gave her good marks as did other b-towners.
Sent the money and then the saga began in what was supposed to be a quick turnaround. That didn't happen. Waited for a bit and phoned. Spoke with someone who identified herself as Crystals sister and she was aware of the purchase but Crystal was in court, got sick etc.
At some point I began to speak with Jonathan Henry and we began to work out the deal while Crystal was sick. In the meantime the Bartertown thread started and I also made some discreet enquiries around Rolla. (its really a small community)
As of Monday Jonathan phoned me to let me know that a shipment was on the way.
It has arrived and is fairly incomplete but Jonathan and I have an understanding that more stuff will be on the way. I have made a list of what is missing and what still needs to be sent,which I emailed to Crystal and Jonathan. As far as I know I have not ever talked to Crystal or aknowledged that i would go to bat for her.

This being said ...some people bite off more than they can chew, then crap happens.....i still have a way to go before my deal is satisfied but we are working on it. Thank you MM for your input in the matter and I appreciate the way the Henrys are trying to get things settled and hope that everything works out for them.

Well, her phone number is posted in an earlier message by me.
It's not illegal to display it, as it is publicly available.
I say that anyone with a cell phoine and free long distance & free nights/weekends should begin calling her. If enough people contact her, perhaps it will light a fire for her to, at least, address the situation here.

Spoke with jonathan this afternoon. Suggested he look at Crystals emails and answer them to explain whats up. Which so far has not been done as far as I can figure as I sent her several which have not been answered Not sure he understood that silence on this matter was a bad thing. I have still never have spoken with Crystal who technically sold me the deal. Jonathan says he is trying to work things out.

At least you have had some contact. I have called the number about 15 times at different times/days and I never seem to get anyone to pick up the phone. I get the feeling that We are being avoided..
I have just about had it and am ready to file mail fraud charges.

I had a similar exerience with someone who sounds really familiar with this individual (Crystal) her name was "Christie". I wrote several times, called several times, was given a "different" story nearly everytime, or told that my stuff would be in the mail the next day.....5 months later, I was out $70, with no recourse of action. I would recommend that you file for Mail Fraud......Evidently they are not too serious about keeping their end of the bargin, and who knows, your delaying in doing so, is enabling them to conduct business under other names (alias'), in continuing their deceit.
I have a very low tolerance for anyone, i these circumstances, who will not respnd to an email...it takes 2 minutes to write one......evidently they are not going to be sending the items, yall have paid for. I learned it the hard way, I dont wish anyone else to go through that, but evidently it still contiues.
Would be a sight, if one or several of yall just appeared on their doorstep....I would love to be there! Maybe, if nothing else, yall could pool some funds and ask MM to go there and pick up your items, and mail em out! Good Luck!

If they intended (or cared) to send you the stuff that is rightfully yours, they'd have found a way by now.

I spoke to what I believe was there daughter tonight, and was told that John was sending out the minis. That he had been sending them out under Crysatals name and that I should call back when they were there. I tried later and got no answer. Just an update.
