I dont understand why when I post a topic, sometimes it can be edited, and other times it cannot.
I thought it had to do with whether or not people posted comments in it, but the last two ads Ive done have no comments posted in them, but the edit option is gone.
Can anyone help me figure this out? I would like to be able to keep my lists updated.

Depends on the forum.
In certain forums on this site, even Mods can't edit stuff (like the conversion forum). Either admin just forgot to set the permissions, or there is more diabolical reasoning behind it.
Other sites also have a time based edit feature, so that after a certain period of time (24 hours, or whatever it's set to), you can no longer edit your ad. I don't think that's the case here, but it does exist elsewhere.
