Near the end of April, I initiated a trade with wrathgod (Chris Horyn) in response to a post from him offering an Armorcast Warhound Titan in trade for enough Warmachine stuff so that he and his son could play. That post has now expired, but I have it copied in a private message (posted below). After some back and forth via private messages and then e-mail, we agreed that I would trade him an assortment of Warmachine miniatures and accessories in exchange for his Warhound. We also agreed to ship on May 2.
I was away on a combination of vacation and travel for work from May 7-28, so I informed him that I wouldn't know whether the parcel had arrived until after I returned. Living in a remote part of Canada, I was fully expecting it to take three weeks or so to arrive, but I hoped it would be waiting for me when I returned from vacation. The tracking information I had showed that my package reached him by May 7. When I returned, I checked the post office, but the parcel had not arrived, so I contacted him in early June to inform of this. He was away from the office, but replied on June 6 to inform me that he had discovered that his receptionist, who he had tasked with mailing the package, had not, and that it had been sitting in the mail room at his office for several weeks. He assured me that he would get it in the mail the next day, and would provide me with tracking information when he had it. Since then I have sent three further e-mails to his gmail account, attempted to contact him at Bartertown, and attempted to contact him by phone twice, at a number I located for him on the internet. In both cases, the number was busy. At this point, I get the impression he has not, and is not going to, send the Warhound.
Up until recently, my dealings with him gave me no cause for concern, and he has no black marks against him on Bartertown (or elsewhere) to the best of my knowledge, but no contact for two weeks after he promised to have it out to me is concerning.
Private message and e-mail exchange follows. I have redacted e-mail and mailing addresses to be on the safe side, but I can provide them if that would be helpful. I can also provide a scan of the receipt and tracking information I have for this package (although the tracking information is available in one of the e-mails below).

Hi Chris,
If you're interested, I have a Khador battlegroup (original metal; Sorscha, Juggernaut and Destroyer), a Gorten Grundback battlegroup (OOP; Gorten, Driller, 3 Gunners), a Prime MKII rulebook, and a selection of other warmachine miniatures I'd be willing to trade. Please let me know.

Thanks for the message! Maybe I should be more clear. I am looking for 2 armies that ideally have a balanced comp and can compete against each other. I would however love matching forces books but again not required. I do know I prefer to have at least one of the armies be Khador. Other than that I am wide open. I'll have pics of the titan available tonight or tomorrow. I currently have 7 people making offers so the bigger the offer the better! I didn't know warhounds had become so scarce.
Best Regards,
Chris

Thanks for the clarification. Well, I'll let you know what I've got (mostly mercenaries), and you can see if it is at all appealing:
Prime MK II (softcover) 29.99
Khador
Starter Set (Kommander Sorscha, Destroyer and Juggernaut) 49.99
Karchev the Terrible 49.99
Behemoth - 59.99
Khador MKII deck - 17.99
Mercenaries
Gorten Grundback Battlegroup (Gorten, Ghordson Driller, 3 Grundback Gunners) - 49.99
Durgen Madhammer - 12.99
extra Ghordson Driller - 29.99
extra Grundback Gunner (missing one leg and one foot - could be used for parts?)
Alexia Ciannor and the Risen (Alexia, 20 Risen and 2 Thrall Warriors) - 35.99+9.99+9.99+9.99+7.99
Steelhead Heavy Cavalry (minimum unit; 3 models) - 59.99
Gorman di Wulfe, Rogue Alchemist - 7.99
Kell Bailoch - 9.99
Lord Rockbottom - 8.99
Thor Steinhammer - 11.99
Stannis Brocker - 19.99
I also have some Cygnar models that can be used with mercenary forces -
Long Gunners (minimum unit - 6 models) - 27.99 can be used with Highborn
Trenchers (minimum unit - 6 models) - 29.99 can be used with Magnus the Traitor theme force
Trencher Grenade Porter - 7.99
Commander Styker
Royal Guardsman Stryker (Iron Kingdoms model)
Total retail on this lot comes to $559.78, not counting the partial gunner, Commander Stryker and the IK model. I'm not sure whether you would need or want all of this in trade, but that's what I have. It is fairly troop light, but does include two warcasters for each side, and a good assortment of solos. For full disclosure, many, but not all, miniatures come with the MKII cards. If we work out a deal, I could always order a MKII mercenary deck for you and have it shipped to you separately.
I definitely understand if you get a better offer; let me know if you want to discuss it further.
Thanks,
Matt

Just to add to my earlier post - with the models I have, one could build two armies that are balanced point wise. I would suggest the following:
Khador -
Karchev the Terrible (-5 warjack points)
Behemoth 13
Destroyer 9
Juggernaut 7
Stannis Brocker 4
Steelhead Heavy Cavalry (min. unit) 6
Total 34 points
Rhulic Highborn -
Durgen Madhammer (-6 warjack points)
Ghordson Driller 6
Ghordson Driller 6
Grundback Gunner 3
Grundback Gunner 3
Grundback Gunner 3
Long Gunners (minimum unit) 6
Alexia Ciannor and the Risen 5
Gorman di Wulfe 2
Kell Bailoch 2
Lord Rockbottom 2
Thor Steinhammer 2
Total 34 points

Hello!
Wow thank you for the list. It looks like you have a firm handle on the game. If you are willing to trade the list you provided then I could have the Warhound in the mail as soon as this Saturday. You are welcome to email me at REDACTED@gmail.com or the email on file here at REDACTED@hotmail.com. The gmail goes to my phone. Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Chris,
I have been taking a look at the value of Armorcast titans online, and I'm not sure it's quite worth $500+ worth of stuff; however, I'm still willing to give you a good deal, and supply you with two armies that are balanced against each other point wise. I would also appreciate pictures of the titan and the weapons it comes with.
How does this sound as an offer (total retail value: $410.82)
Warmachine Prime MK II softcover 29.99
Khador MK II deck 17.99
Khador Starter Set (Kommander Sorscha, Destroyer and Juggernaut) 49.99
Gorten Grundback Starter Set (Gorten Grundback, Ghordson Driller, Grundback Gunner x 3) 49.99
Durgen Madhammer (warcaster) 11.99
Ghordson Driller 29.99
Steelhead Heavy Cavalry 59.99
Alexia Ciannor & the Risen 73.95
Stannis Brocker 19.99
Gorman di Wulfe 7.99
Kell Bailoch 9.99
Lord Rockbottom 8.99
Thor Steinhammer 11.99
Long Gunners 27.99
This will allow you to build two 24-25 point armies, with a little bit of extra stuff leftover (sample lists below)
Khador
Kommander Sorscha (-5 warjack points)
Destroyer 9
Juggernaut 7
Steelhead Heavy Cavalry 6
Stannis Brocker 4
Gorman di Wulfe 2
Kell Bailoch 2
Highborn Mercenary
Durgen Madhammer (-6 warjack points)
Ghordson Driller 6
Grundback Gunner 3
Grundback Gunner 3
Grundback Gunner 3
Alexia Ciannor and the Risen 5
Long Gunners 6
Lord Rockbottom 2
Thor Steinhammer 2
So that you have MK II cards for all of the mercenaries, I'd also suggest picking up a Mercenary MK II deck from ccgarmory.com ccgarmory.com. Another useful resource for army building is Forward Kommander.
If you don't feel the offer above is enough, I am willing to negotiate.

Thanks for the picture Chris, it looks good.
I think the offer I sent above is fair - $410 worth of Warmachine miniatures, rulebook and Khador set of cards. As not all of the miniatures have the most up-to-date cards, I will also forward on the Warmachine Field Test pdf (from just before they released Prime MK II last year), so that you can play with them right away until you're able to pick up a Mercenary MK II 2010 deck.
The forces I would provide are balanced point wise, and each fields a combination of warjacks, units and solos, so it is a good starting point to build from.
If you are in agreement, I will package my material up, and can have it in the mail to you on Monday.
For reference, my address is:

Given the relatively large dollar value of the trade, I would recommend getting insurance on the Titan; I'll be getting enough insurance to cover replacement value on my stuff, just in case.
I hope you and your son have fun with this stuff!

1 Gorten Grundback Battlegroup (OOP; includes 1 Gorten Grundback warcaster, 3 Grundback Gunners and 1 Ghordson Driller)
1 Durgen Madhammer warcaster
1 Ghordson Driller
1 Grundback Gunner (missing one leg and foot)
1 unit Alexia Ciannor & The Risen (includes 1 Alexia Ciannor model, 20 Risen models and 2 Thrall Warrior models)

Please let me know.

Sounds good. I got your package in the mail, the tracking number is CX 401 736 407 CA, and can be tracked at http://www.canadapost.ca/cpo/mc/default.jsf. I'm not sure whether the tracking will work all the way to the destination, or whether only within Canada.
Please let me know when the parcel arrives, and leave feedback on Bartertown. I will do the same (although as I will be away until May 28, I probably won't know whether it has arrived until then).
Good trading with you!

Just sending that reminder as you requested...I would appreciate if you could get any tracking info that may be available to me. Also, just because it hasn't shown up yet, doesn't mean that it won't...I live in a pretty remote part of Canada, and the mail delivery times are highly variable. I was expecting it to take about three weeks, and we're going on five now.
Please let me know what you find out.
Thanks,

Chris, I am getting a bit concerned as you have stopped answering my e-mails. I have sent you $400 retail worth of miniatures, and as far as I can tell you haven't sent the Warhound in return. If I do not hear back from by Monday I will treat this as mail fraud, register you as a bad trader on Bartertown, and look into legal options.
Please respond before it comes to that.
Matt

I see from reading some other BTR threads that it does seem to be acceptable (and encouraged) to post the trader's mailing address.

If you do call, make sure you tell "Kiesha" what Mr. Horyn thinks about her when she answers. You might suddenly find you have an advocate in his office.

Hey, I appreciate the offer - I've tried to call that number several times now, and am beginning to think it has been disconnected. I'm currently away on duty travel (I will be visiting various mineral exploration camps over the next couple of weeks), which means I have limited time and facilities with which to chase this down. Any head way you can make would be appreciated. I didn't think much of the comments he made about his receptionist, either; it was ultimately his responsibility that the package go out.djinn24 wrote:Christopher P. Horyn
