Whatever it is, is most likely wrong. Your BTR data on the other hand is potentially not.Torrero wrote:ok ok..i got to the task... tell me if its wrong...

If you were cheated, then Brinkosanity gets the boot, as should Mad-dog for their lovely contributions. Be they liars, thieves, or liars and thieves they deserve no quarter. Should someone offer you "SUCH a good offer" in the future, it is suggested that you ignored your avarice.Torrero, Posted: Sun Dec 02, 2007 5:08 pm Post subject: wrote:hehe, brink sounds sound. looks like ill be trading nywy...
everything he says is very realistic.. plus its SUCH a good offer :S
About the refs, he says they did trades before, but since they joined have onlt filled in their refs now while they have accounts...
MagickalMemories wrote a good post that displays both useful and useless information which can be used for good, evil and creepy.

I did a Google maps search, too... Nice large houses with large plots of land in that area. This particular lot appears to have been undeveloped at the time the sattelite photo was taken.
It's just a stones throw from a pair of Golfing clubs/courses, though.
Assuming the google-map/mapquest-map/white-pages map is even putting the icon for the address in the right location, best guess is it's the house with the redish roof two houses west of Downing street, approximately 60m (180ft).
Welcome to rural Carlisle, PA. Zoom down to the 2nd to last zoom level and you can see the houses clearly.

A search, by name and city found something interesting:

League: Merrimack Valley Conference.
Returning Starters: Colin Sweeney, jr., 112
Seems we could have a high school kid (and a small one, at that) playing some tricks.
Lowell Sun: Massachusetts newspaper.
Dracut: "Dracut Sr. High School", Merrimack Valley Conference, Massachusetts.
http://mvcscores.com/, click on "MVC Schools", "Dracut" is listed. http://www.dracut.k12.ma.us/
Useful.MagickalMemories wrote: So, I did a search for " Sweeney" in Whitepages.com.
There ARE a number of "Sweeny" entries in that zip code. I didn't feel like searching Mapquest to find how close they all are to the address you were given.
http://www.whitepages.com/search/FindPe ... ime=survey
There is one last name "Sweeny" with an unlisted phone/address.
There are 13 "Sweeney" addresses in Carlisle. Wonder if they're related?
Whitepages.com has a map feature built in which you access by clicking the "view map" tab next to the "view list" tab on the search results page, no need to go back to mapquest.
Zoom and find Union Hall Road. If the scale is correct, there are several addresses within a few miles, but none appear to be within one mile.
Useful.. and creepy.MagickalMemories wrote: The address you were given, though, is registered to a "Sarah Geidel."

Now, it could be that this is a neighbor or friend whose address he's using.
It could be his home and his mom's remarried with a different last name.
It could be that the listing is incorrect and this information is stale.
I called the #, and it went to what sounded like an answering machine. The voice sounded like an older lady.
Good luck with it.
Eric
Hopefully the woman will call Eric back and we'll know more in the future. It would be very disturbing to find out that there are people coming to bartertown harassing random strangers (or people they know) with parcel's from third parties.

You tell his mommy & daddy what he did & offer to email them a link to the site (this thread, specifically) where they can see the evidence for themselves.
If it HAPPENS not to be a child, you give him the opportunity to send you what was offered, or your stuff back (plus your shipping costs) before calling the cops.
Of course, I'd have called the cops and the FBI by now, anyway. Mail fraud is a federal offense.

Lower rating? You ship first.
Give me a sense of humor Lord. Give me the grace to see a joke.
To get some humor out of life and pass it on to other folk.
I think what this situation needs is some imagination.

Want my help with a BTR or backout? All messages sent/posted should be in CHRONOLOGICAL order. Otherwise, I just won't read it.

Just to help out here, I don't think MM will be able to reply to your question in the thread for a short while. You may want to send him a PM for you question. Although, your options have pretty much been detailed above. Try to contact him yourself using the info that MM was nice enough to take the time to find, or call the police and/or FBI. Be ready to stay on top of this if you call the authorities, though. It is not like you just issue the complaint and then they just take care of everything for you, sending you your stuff back gift-wrapped. It will take some time and effort on your part as well. Good luck.
Please do not agree to a trade with me unless you know for sure that you actually want it to happen! If you think that makes me a jerk, feel free to NOT TRADE WITH ME!

Don't just have MM do all the work for you. It's not his job to get your stuff back, the fact that he's put in this much effort already is impressive. Make a phonecall yourself, hell, have your parents call the guy's house. You can't expect other people to solve your problems.
If you can't get in touch with the guy when you call, then contact the FBI.
Or if you don't care enough to do this who heartedly, then let it go, otherwise you're just wasting MM's time.
I guess we can chalk this up to inexperience.
I hate throwing this cliche around but, for future reference, please remember that if a deal is TOO good to be true, it usually is...it will save everyone on these boards a lot of headaches.

All of that stuff they told you before you sent the stuff out was them trying to help you too. Frankly I'm surprised you went through with sending the stuff after like 6 pages of replies in your Questions thread telling you not to...The things the people here tell you are to help you, why you keep ignoring them left and right is beyond me.

Only bad thing is, the deal was about 300% against HIS favor to begin with......that combined with the 6 pages of "OH my LORD don't do it!" advice and he still went through with it, well.........titan136 wrote:I hate throwing this cliche around but, for future reference, please remember that if a deal is TOO good to be true, it usually is...it will save everyone on these boards a lot of headaches.
Live and learn I guess

Ollie, it wasn't the crash itself per se that caused the sprue damage, it was the resulting explosion when the gas tank erupted right after he narrowly escaped......gees, don't you watch any movies??Ollieb wrote:One thing I noticed about this is that the minis that were supposedly destroyed in an accident were all listed as NIB. That must have been one hell of a wreck to destroy sprues.
