Well, most importantly, Good for you for having that kind of patience!

That said, if you want to make it a bit easier on you and keep your lines cleaner than they already are, you could try Micron pens. At $4 to $5 each, they're a little pricey, but they're GREAT for detail work (including tattoos, decorative trim & eyes).

The trick is to seal your models FIRST.
If you try to write right on top of your paint... well, I don't know exactly what happens, but you don't get anywhere & it ruins the pen. It'll never write again.

They're available in a BUNCH of different colors, too.

I've actually used the Micron pens before, like on the Farseer's cloak runes. But the pen itself is sometimes too wide to get into tiny areas, like between the launcher and his arm, for instance. In which case, I have to resort to brushwork...

You can't get a *Micron* pen into a gap, but you can get your *brush* in there?
Holy crap, AS! How many (how few) bristles are on that brush? LOL

I meant the pen itself (which is like 5mm wide), not the tip (which is like 0.05mm wide)

I use the Sharpie Ultra-Fine pens. They're permanent and you can buy the 10 pack for any from $10-20.

They have 10 different colors. And they are Sharpies.

Microns can be gotten with permanent ink. I myself prefer using Rapidiograph pens.

These are what I am talking about: http://www.jerrysartarama.com/discount- ... n-sets.htm

Those are nice and all, but you can't beat $1-2 a pen for a set of 10.

I don't know, kt. I'm going to have to disagree.
It really depends on what you want to do with those pens.

The Rapidograph & Micron pens are WAAAAAY smaller tipped than the ultra-fine sharpies.
Comparing the two is like comparing a regular felt tip pen to a full-size sharpie. When comparing the line thickness, there's a HUGE difference.

I just checked the ultra fines I have.. they are the same size/thickness as a line on lined/ruled paper.

How small are these things?

And for the price, do they draw on their own?

I know of the Sharpies you speak of, the Microns and Rapdiograph pens are smaller.

FINALLY got around to painting these excellent old school GW Arbites figures. Believe it or not, they have been sitting in my drawer, primed, for almost 10 years now! These were some of the very first minis I ever bought way, way back in 1996.

The blue basecoat was laid down, zenithal-wise, with airbrush paint. Everything else is Reaper Pro Paints (which I'm becoming addicted to). This is also my first attempt at NMM...what do you think?

Completed Em4's 'Not-Road Warrior' today, I call him "Angry Maxwell". It was tough to get the graying hair on his temples right...

Here's a shot of him with two other Em4 P-A Survivors I did just last year, so you can see how my painting has evolved in only about 14 months.

My first Steampunk mini and one I've had my eye on for quite some time now - Reaper Chronoscope "Sasha Dubois". I'm fairly proud of this piece since it's the first time I've painted a female face convincingly.

She looks nice, man. Good work.
Love that base. I'm using those on my DE army.
