Some people will not post references until all parties are satisfied.
Perhaps he is trying to track down your package and make sure you get it before he leaves his reference, that way he can reference your patience and understanding in his refernce to you.

I know that is one of my personal rules.

If I have figured out correctly who you are referring to i believe he does practice this as well.

Its been a month, thats patient enough. First Class or Priority in the USA does NOT take that long. If he would have replied to my messages & kept me up to date , I would have cut him more slack.

I made him a deal that I think is generous under the circumstances & how he has acted. Return my stuff, return my shipping($10) and give me a good reference. I'll give him a good ref & forget he acted this way.

It CAN take that long, but it's either lost, damaged or worse. And the mailer is usually concerned; which this one doesn't appear to be.

I think starslayer is handling the situation in the best way possible. It stinks when something like this happens, but as the immortal Patrick Swayze said in Roadhouse, "Be nice, until it is time to stop being nice". I am sure I misquoted that at least a little, but dang is that a macho movie.

@peacemystic - well, there are only a handful of traders with ratings higher than starslayer. Anyone over 300 should be given an award by the USPS for being a champion of the service. Porkuslime should be crowned "King of the Post" because I imagine he has put at least 10 of their kids though college with all of the postage he has paid  .

I think the clues so far point to the possible culprit...old man Willikers at the amusement park! Seriously though, the info so far reveals it (I think).
Always remember that your stuff is nearly worthless junk. The other person's items are highly valuable collectibles.

If I owe you a reference, please remind me.

I don't expect people to wait forever for an answer, and expect the same courtesy.

Don't worry, it looks like we'll see a BTR pop up soon enough, and that'll take care of the guesswork.

Really, tho, it'd be far better if the other guy would just complete their end of the deal.

Im going to give him the 7 days to cool down & do the right thing.

Burn him.

Holding reference hostage I believe is a violation of the rules. You cant threaten no/good/bad references as hostage.

I sent him a message stating he had 2 days left to give me a DC # returning my items. Instead of doing the right thing- or even simply replying to my PM- he gave me a negative reference. This is blatantly RETALIATORY FEEDBACK. A BTR thread will follow soon, along with a negative reference, and I'll be contacting the Mods/Admin about him.

He received my items. He simply gave me a negative reference for asking for what was agreed on.

Ooooohhhh. Now that is just wrong. It's funny that this guy has been on Bartertown for a long time, had a long string of good trades and sales, and then just gets kind of "whatever". Got a couple of good ones lately, but it seems that he really just doesn't care.

I only left a neutral, with his attitude, I really wish I would have left a negative. The only problem with negatives, is that with someone with a decent amount of references, the number doesn't decrease a noticeable amount. At least with a neutral, it draws attention to the amount because it is an odd number.

BTW Dennis, it's spelled d-i-s-c-r-e-t-i-o-n.

SS, you may have seemed a little gung-ho, but there is no way you deserve a negative. Don't get me wrong, I think you are totally in the right. I'm sure you have kept all of your PMs, so you should be straight.

edit: I didn't think it was a BTR, but...I can see how it would be construed as such. Sorry MM, I cut out all of that stuff.

Lower rating? I ask that you ship first. Also, if I offer a stupidly good deal and you try to negotiate even lower...don't call it bad communication that you didn't get a reply. I deleted the message.

I posted in the Bad Trader section. If the guy showed any sympathy or was apologetic AT ALL- I would have been more patient. You can read the messages yourself. Its funny that he shows an entirely different face publicly (the bad ref he gave me) than his private messages(Chill homie- do what you do).

Really? Wow, what a total (jerk).

You should appeal that Neg ASAP, because you didn't do anything wrong.

And definitely, you should Neg him when the final trade is done...

STOP the name calling.

...And, Stan?... You know the rules... No bad trade reporting outside of a BTR thread.
Please, edit your post.

2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2.

If you don't have your Location listed in your User Control Panel, why not take a second and update it? It will let your trading partners know where you are from the beginning.

I use the Unofficial Porkuslime Trading Guidelines - if you have way less refs.. you ship first.
