Good day all.

Man where did the year go??

It's already December!

I'll admit, I was hoping for a bit more traffic in this year's painting contest, especially with the idea of prizes.

I really wanted to participate, and actually got a bit of painting done, but never found time to snap pics and post them. Wouldn't have been enough to get me anywhere near top 3, but eh.

My wife and I are making an agreement to pick at least one night each month to devote to building and painting minis and scenery this next year, so maybe I can motivate myself to get pics taken for next year's comp.

when I take pics on my phone, the file is too big to post. I have to dig out my old digital camera and use it.

I got sucked into the 3D printing side of my project more than the painting in the second half of the year! I have some other completed stuff that needs uploading, if I get around to it lmao

Last things of the year. not enough to get me to move up in the rankings, but at least they're finished.
Several projects have been partially painted, then stripped.

All the bases are covered with a snow effect. 1 has mid then snow. Not impressed with the look for the extra time and work, so sticking to just snow. Which turns out to be spackle.

1st are 3 Endless Spells for Aos OSB. Roman Lost Legion colors. I'm going with the frozen look on my undead. Ghosts are also snow, ice themed, but less solid, more spectral.

3 test skellies for OSB. I wanted the dark old bone look for the actual bones and a lighter look for the created bone.
3 skellies.jpg

Skellies are 6 points. 3 models @ 1 each plus the textured bases.
Not sure for the endless spells. 2 on 60mm bases, 3rd is on 90mm x 50mm base.

I've been working many hours, 56 last week, 60 the week before, 58 each of the previous. At the moment I'm working overnights, not much time or effort to paint.

Probably the last entry of the year.

I was testing another type of snow. Microbubbles. More like baking powder or baking soda. Not impressed with it for ground cover but is ok for dusting of snow. It took multiples coats to get coverage and any form of piling effects. I bought the model built, so putting the spackle under it would be difficult if not impossible.

chariot? 8 points and 8 for the base?

I'd say they're probably large infantry sized for the spells? That seems reasonable?
