2023 Bartertown Painting Contest

Post by 3eland »

Here's the new painting challenge!

Every Bartertowner and staff members may participate in the challenge. I've used the spoiler tag to keep this post as clean as I can.

Officially done January and no paint! Hope everyone is finding some hobby time. I've been pushing off starting my Sons of Behemut army. Mostly because it scares the crap out of me painting 5 of them up, but also because I'm a liiiiitle bit lazy.

How's everyone else's painting table?

So:

Hooch Hauler 120 mm
Carnivian 50mm
Tentacle maw 50mm
3 tentacles 40mm

No idea points for these, but you can see that carnivean is a heavy warbeast- and its DWARFed by that hooch hauler

The nice thing about the living points is we can discuss and adapt!

This is what I would consider each for points. Let's discuss and once we agree, I can update the section with the model names for use later!

Hooch Hauler 120 mm - 20-25
Carnivian 50mm - I'd consider this a small monster - 10
Tentacle maw 50mm - small monster - 10
3 tentacles 40mm - either infantry for 2 each, or elite for 3 each

That's fair!

I haven't seen one in person. Left Hordes back when PP ruined themselves. I'll let anyone else comment their opinions as well.

No one seems to argue, so why don't we call it a "Super Large Monster" worth 50?

So total points would be: 79?

Finally finished models from last year. 3 CDMD monsters/enemies and 7 undead minions and leader from MD2.
I started them before I started the great Cthulhu figure. Finished yesterday.
no points.

But here is why I finished them, so I could have my paint handles and painting space open.

All of these minis are from a board game called Lobotomy 2. It's a dungeon crawl, but every character is trying to escape the mental hospital they are in. Everyone thinks they are someone else. It's a blast.
1st is The Huntsmaster. Most games he's just the timekeeper, but in at least 1 scenario, he's the main adversary.
huntsmaster 1.jpg
hunstmaster 2.jpg
dreadnaught for scale.
So, is it a small monster or large character? not sure on the points.
