I don't think we need to worry about separate pics. If the painter thinks he/she should have bonus point, but doesn't give us pics that let us see that detail, then it's just their loss.
If they provide inadequate pics, then ask for quality points... THEN we point fingers at them, call them names, and make fun of them for not giving us better pics! LOL
Re: Swarms....
Whatever the points, Nurglings and Rippers should be the same, if similar. Obviously, OOP FW Ripper swarms are worth more than 3 rippers on a base but, with all other things being similar, the points should be equal.
If my math is right, should be 129 points. 22 large infantry, 6 swarms at 2 points and 9, 1 point spores.
I'm wondering why this isn't good enough to calculate points, and why base sizes are needed.

Separate pics in some respects. I need to count the minis. If they're all lumped together, I can't
That's why I said group by size/points.

22 large infantry can easily be lined up as 4 rows of 5 with 2 off-set. 1 pic.
6 swarms at 2 points, 1 pic.
and 9 spores at 1-2 points; 1 pic

Yes we're going by size and complexity of the model, not base size.
BUT, smaller models can get lost on a big[er] base than a big model on a small[er] or same size base.

20 Poxwalkers, infantry. 2@ 20=40 or 2x20=40.
for example. Makes it easier for me.

And.. the math was wrong and he shorted himself 2 points.
That's why I broke them down in my post.

As far as the nurglings, to me; and I easily could be wrong, looked like there was more base than model. 3 pieces vs the 5 of the rippers.
I'll go back and look again.

My Termagants aren't much smaller than my Genestealers; but it's just enough for the points difference. 1 vs 2 points.
The color scheme of 1 vs the other is the only thing taking me longer to paint the stealers.

Reviewed the Nurglings again. 3 models on each base, but, 2 other models on each base. Not really terrain, so 3 more points added.

I think I understand the confusion. You were only considering the Nurglings themselves and not the story each base was telling. I only brought it up because I am about to do another 3 custom along with 3 normal.

I'm looking at the size and complexity of the model.
Terrain features, while are nice and MAYBE help for bonus points; don't add to the model. [at least right now. Unless that's decided to change.]
Terrain itself isn't even in the contest or a contest.

For my Necrons, I put 3 scarabs on a base. They were 3 wounds, so 3 models. I kept track of damage by marking off the models on the base with hole protectors. [they go on loose leaf paper around the hole when it rips or wears] [I won't say what we called them in the training school from work.]
They'd be 1 pointers. If I put all 5 on there, like usually shown, they'd be worth 2.

That was the problem. You were confusing part of the model as terrain. I do a lot of custom work. The next batch has at least 4 actual nurglings per where a couple of the last ones only had 3.

I hope it's not too late for me to join. Here are a few I did recently. The Space Marine in the last few pics is just for scale.

I thought we required bases to be completed, as well.
Was I mistaken?

On the first page it says that they can be textured or painted. I painted them so I thought it was ok.

Wow, too early in the morning.
Yes, bases must be painted.
The 3 marine models don't appear to be painted. I can still see the blue tab line on the bases.
The aliens look to be painted or at least washed/shaded if the plastic is grey.

Pints will be removed until the marine bases are painted.

I tried to paint the blue part, but I guess it needs another layer. I did paint the other bases grey.
