Thanks, 3eland, my only experience with skaven was back in my extended Mordheim campaign (I eventually switched over to Dwarves, though, who were probably broken, in retrospect, but Skaven were more fun).

A piece I entered in a painting comp (sadly, he didn't place, but I still like him).

Thanks, I really liked working out that color scheme. Not as detailed, but some other fun random steampunk models (with notes, as usual):

Very nice Spiral, I especially love the creepy look on the nurse girl-thing. Your attention to detail always blows me away!

Thanks, yeah, she's my favorite from that set, thought I got her face looking just right.

Also, my first (of many) Astral Claws squad (started with captain I entered in a painting comp maybe a year(s?) ago), (actually) beginning an army which I'd been meaning to start for ages. (Notes)

Thanks! Took forever to get that green right, though it was pretty easy to do once I figured out the mix. (Also, the captain is one of my favorite recent models).

Also, said captain's command squad:

or at least teach the GW guys how to paint.
Have you seen their newest how to paint book, that comes with a dvd? The faces in them look like crap; unfinished.

Some of your steampunk models look more like realistic, wax statures rather than toy models.
Heh, I was called a Grognard. ;-)

Wow, thanks, both of you!

3eland, is there anything in particular you'd want to see? I'm thinking about eventually moving in that direction if I can ever get the patience to do it right... thinking on doing one on controlling extreme highlights and OSL, but that's the only one I've got specific ideas for...

kturok, no, just like with video game player's guides, I haven't bought a magazine for painting since people started giving away the same thing for free online...

Yea i do agree SpiralingCadaver's techniques are top notch and i'd love to learn his techniques. Though i have seen some more exotic stuff done with the power weapons from someone else on here.
