Back on June 6th I contacted bishop120x about some Warmachine figures that he was selling. We made a deal for $55 shipped and I politely asked him to ensure that he packed the figures up carefully, since I've been hit by a rash of deals lately where people pack the figures poorly and they arrive broken. He told me no problem, that he'd pack them with cushioning. When they arrived, there were 12 infantry models placed in a ziploc bag with absolutely no packing materials, and two warjacks placed into another ziploc bag with absolutely no packing materials. Both bags were then stuffed into a Small Flate-Rate Priority Mail box. I've attempted communication with him via PM here and through his email address. I know that he's logged in since them and read the messages (they're not in my Outbox), but he has chosen not to respond. I'm opening up a BTR in hopes of resolving this before I have to leave negative feedback and file a Paypal claim for the goods arriving broken.

So the minis arrived and were shipped without any packing protection whatsoever (just stuffed into plastic bags and then stuffed into a small Priority Mailer. I would like to return the minis and receive a refund including the cost of shipping ($55 I paid + $5 to return to you).

The price you offered was excellent, but it's not worth my time to try to fix these up.

He logged in on Friday, June 22nd and has read my PMs, but has chosen not to respond to it. I also sent an email last night to the address he gave me for paypal reading:

"Hello,

Please respond to my PM on the Bartertown forum. I would prefer not having to open a Bad Trader Report or having to file a paypal claim. Thank you."


Again, I would like to resolve this without having to resort to negative feedback or a paypal claim, and I'm resorting to a BTR in hopes of getting an actual response.

He contacted you via Certified letter, or he'd refund it that way?
I don't like the idea of a refund by mail, myself. I am NOT making any accusations about him in general, just making some observations about non-specific individuals in the past; there are those who've made "alternate refund" promises, only to never follow through with them. Once the PayPal 45 day window's over, they're gone.

IMO, in situations like this (regardless who the party in question is), the refund should be done via PayPal only. Heaven knows what someone could send in the mail and, if they're exceptionally 'advanced' in their tricks, they could easily send you a false payment document.

Thanks for the head's up. I had actually already PMed him asking why not just refund through paypal, but have not received an answer back yet (although again, he read it).

Just an update, I escalated this to a claim with paypal. I'm waiting on paypal to respond.

As another update, paypal ruled in my favor, the money is back in my account.

I shot off an email to bishop120x to initiate the return of the figures.

SHIP THEM WITH TRACKING/DELIVERY CONFIRMATION.
Preferably, send them with a signature required.

Once you have confirmation (Via bishop or USPS, etc.) that the minis are in his possession, put that info in the BTR and THEN we'll mark it closed.
